Earn $20.22 or more per hour while you gain valuable hands-on work experience in a world class Accounting and Tax environment! Upon graduation - and with your successful work performance - you may be promoted into a full-time career position as an Internal Revenue Agent. If accepted into the Student Career Experience Program, you will work full-time during the summer, 2011 AND part-time during the 2011-2012 school year. A minimum of 640 work hours is required, but your work schedule is flexible. SCEP provides you with training and experience designed to develop you for a career as an IRS Revenue Agent. An Internal Revenue Agent is a professional accountant who examines individual, business, and corporate tax returns to determine correct federal tax liabilities. Agents conduct examinations relating to compliance with requirements mandated by the Internal Revenue Code. Internal Revenue Agents who work in the Large Business & International Division are responsible for administering the tax examinations of the largest corporations in the world and frequently deal with complex tax issues, including tax shelters, mergers and acquisitions, global operations, and transfer pricing. Job Requirements: Interest in pursuing a career in federal tax administration U.S. citizenship Best Qualified Applicants will: Be graduate degree students enrolled in a Master of Accounting or Master of Taxation program - having already completed a minimum of 24 semester hours of pure Accounting coursework. Be on track to complete master degree program between May, 2012 and December, 2012. Have a minimum 3.0 GPA overall and in accounting coursework.
