Gladys Robinson - Bennett College for Women (5181 hits)

Gladys Robinson is a Democratic member of the North Carolina State Senate, representing District 28. Robinson joined the Senate in 2011 after winning election on November 2, 2010. Robinson defeated Bruce Davis in the May 8, 2012 Democratic Primary. She was unopposed in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012

Robinson spent much of her professional career as a grant writer and reviewer as well as working in health and human services as an executive director. She served on the UNC Board of Governors and was appointed by the governor to the North Carolina Minority Health Advisory Council. She also sits on the North Carolina Legislative Black Caucus Fdtn.

Robinson got her bachelor's degree from Bennett College for Women and earned her Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from North Carolina A&T University.
