The Madeira School is one of the country's premier girls boarding/day schools with a century of serving the needs of a wide variety of young women from around the country and the world. Located just outside of Washington, DC, on the banks of the Potomac River, Madeira enrolls 315 students in grades 9-12. The Madeira School is currently seeking an Associate Director of Admission & Financial Aid.

Responsibilities include:
Recruitment
•Participate in area recruiting events, participate in campus wide recruitment programs, and help coordinate all admission recruiting activities.
•Provide on-going consultation to prospective girls, applicants and their families.
•Interview prospective families and girls and prepare thoughtful and thorough interview evaluation forms.

Admissions Activities
•Review and read applications; interview prospective students; respond to applicant inquiries; and counsel prospective girls and their families regarding the admissions process, test taking strategies, curriculum, etc.
•Represent the school before alumni and other groups and serve as The Madeira School’s primary contact for admissions.
•Coordinate, in consultation with other members of the admission staff, all admission events on campus.
•Serve as coordinator of the admission presence on the Madeira website, to include online application, stories and photos from students, and other timely news events.
•Oversee the Student Admission Representatives (STARS)

Financial Aid Activities
•Serve as the coordinator of the Financial Aid program, determine financial aid award packages for admitted students; perform needs analysis, packaging, counseling, and all contacts with current and prospective financial aid students.
•Review files and application materials to determine family’s ability to pay and eligibility for institutional funds. On a case-by-case basis, uses professional judgment to make adjustments in calculating the expected parental contribution.
•Communicate respectfully with a diverse population of current and prospective students and families.
•Supervise Sr. Admission Associate in the distribution of financial aid materials.

Staff Development
•Assist the Director of Admission and Financial Aid in the management of the office, including procedures, interview scheduling and major mailings
