NO NO NO NO NO, this song is NOT about nupes being gay! When you have line brothers or line sisters and you go through something with them you STR8 up just LOVE them! The no homo isn't necessary, its a bond so strong that its just unexplainable, more than a friend and closer than family. Exactly @ Kenya! I'm from NYC and Im greek, I just dont wear nilia (paraphanalia) now that I have graduated from undergrad (unless its a greek event) but you would be surprised there are A LOT of us out here, were just on the low low (I notice a lot of greeks at work). I've had my 3 years of walking around campus with nalia and being stalked (I leave that to my neos now) anyway now all I wanna do is remain active but in a grown and sexy way. Now a days I wear the type of nalia that is FELT and not SEEN (wat u know about that? lol) So if I walk in a room they would say damn she HAS to be an AKA...and guess what it works!
Any whoo to answer that question we do not recruit, its not in our nature. Do some research and find local chapters if they have programs attend them, yadda yadda yadda.......
lol...fyi...u don't chose the org you WANT to "pledge" the org CHOSES you...only if we want...lets just get that clear. SECONDLY...research, research, RESEARCH I can't stress that enough. Maybe u should consider buying a book called "The Divine Nine" by Laurence Ross I am sure that will help you to get an slite insite about what greek life is REALLY about and not the superficial things that you THINK were about.

I haven't been here in a while and as I can see a lot of yall haven't either.
My advice is to get to know the members and let them know that you are interested but you do have band practice but if it is a week of events let them know that you will skip at least 3 band practices in order to go to their week. I say 3 because if you have no time for the org as a prospect then chances are that you wont have time for it as a member also. So you must sacrifice something...the ball is in your court.
Ohh and just to add a little knowledge to ur ignorance black on black hate is not called racism...Racism is a term used to express the discrimination and prejudice encountered by members of different races. I believe the term ur looking for is colorism. As I said b4 Ignorance is a bliss...research my org b4 u write garbage...I should sue u for defamation.

I agree wth everything you said. I attended a HBCU and I know how serious it is. I agree there is more information available than ever and yes, you should know the basics. People also make decisions by how they view chapters/ members on their campus, reputations/ stereotypes of organizations or family tradition, etc. What I don't see is,studying, being tested, grilled ( like pledging) without knowing if you're going to be "one". What do you do with all that knowledge if you are not chosen, other than be Pissed. Seems like system where kids can be misled,used and abused all for naught.
This may be true. Now, In terms of a prospect wanting to know information it should be self fulfilling not merely self gaining. Generally, it is always best to know information and not have an opportunity than to have an opportunity and not know. Finally, keep in mind that prospects haze them self. The fact of the matter is that gaining membership into a BGLO is NOT a right but instead a privilege...some get it, some don’t...simple as that. Most will be disappointed, some won’t. Preparation is key.
