Soooo... out of curiousity...
Were any of you, or are any of you, members of High School Organizations (HSOs)? Here in Memphis, they are kind if popular with the High School students... we have tons of them.. and they step, host parties, do their strolls and calls and all that jazz. They do they whole "pledging" process (lines) and initiaite members, community service projects, etc. etc.
The less knowledgable people refer to them as "high school sororities/fraternities", though we always have to correct them because we are NOT and do not claim to be sororities/fraternities... although some of the male organizations are affiliated with some fraternities (Kappa League, NSI/Omega Prep).
So I was just wondering if they were popular elsewhere or if any of you are/had been members of anything similar?
Well I am from Northern Miss and Memphis so I know all about the Memphis high school organizations. I was an archonette during my high school years. I was actually in a lot of Sigma and Zeta organizations. A lot of those Memphis high school organizations annoy me. They want to be down so bad. They truly believe that they are members of the divine 9. There is no pledging process for a high school organization. I don't like it when they call their membership process "pledging". I also don't like them using the word sorority or fraternity. I believe many of them don't know the difference. That is the reason why many greeks don't like junior organizations. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the only NATIONAL junior greek organizations are the Archonette Club and the Sigma Beta Club. Someone told me that the Kappa League was national now as well. But all of those other memphis clubs... PGK, LOE, LLE, MOD, etc etc...can go!

The movie would be completely dramatic and she couldn't even pull "New New" off. Sister Souljah has actually said that she doesn't want any known actors for the roles. She wants completely new people.
But let's face it, the movie will never come out. At least no time soon.
They have been talking about a movie since 2001. I actually heard about the movie before the book.
The sequel to the book will be coming out October 14.

well I have no problem with ppl dating outside of their race. The problem occurs when that is the only reason the person is dating them. Alot of guys (not all..some) think that white women are easier to control than alot of the other races. If you're dating that person because you actually like that person, thats fine, but if you're dating the white girl just because she's a white girl. That's wrong on so many levels. It's disrespectful to your race and it's always disrespectful to the girl that you're dating. People are too hung up on color. Especially blacks.

My daddy plays a major part in my life. My parents have been married 24 years come November 26. I'm very blessed to have had both of my parents involved in my life. I think I'm the only one in my inner circle that has a relationship with their father. Some of my friends don't even know who their fathers are. It's quite a reality shock. I love my daddy to death. I am a true "daddy's girl". I'm closer to my daddy than I am to my mother. We always kick it together like i'm 7 years old. My daddy gives me the world because my sisters and I were always throught that we deserved just that, the world. Even though we argue, I still love and respect that man. He has no sons so the headaches that my sisters and I give him are nothing but pure hell. If he can go through that stiill today, he's a superman. My daddy loves my mom so much. She's ill right now and he stays beside her no matter what. That's true love. I want a man like my daddy. They really don't make them like that anymore though but I won't stop searching. There has been a rumor going around that Zane is supposed to be turning Addicted into a stage play which is close enough for a movie. gosh, it would be like a step from a porno!

I first heard about the movie before I heard about the book. They were supposed to be making a movie in 2002. smh...First there was a deal with HBO and now that deal is off. Jada did say that she was not playing Winter. Sister Soulja said she didnt want anyone famous playing main parts. She wants fresh faces. The movie has been put on hold. As if that is a big surprise! Anyway... I can't wait for part 2. She's finished with it! It'll be out in 2008. It should be bananas! I loved her other 2 books. She puts out nothing but fire! lol I can't say the same for Omar Tyree. The only book by him that I did enjoy was Flyy Girl
No was was expecting it? I kinda had a feeling towards the ending that someone was going to get killed. The way the message was to "live your life" I was like "yea...a main character is going to die"
Still...I was kinda shocked how she died and pissed at Yardy. Was it like a year even? I know you should continue on but I felt so drawn to Rayne's character.
I refuse to read part 2. It won't be the same. lol
I don't think it was her best book. I mean, it was good, don't get me wrong. But I'll have to go with Addicted. That was a bad ass book!

I used to be an Archonette. I remember that New Orleans did have a chapter but since Katrina, it might have disbanned. What you might have to do is contact a Zeta in the Southern U of NO chapter and ask her about it.
My school's homecoming is uhh... October 14 I think. Something of that nature. It's usually pretty hype during that time but its funny because RIGHT before homecoming we have midterms. So after homecoming is over everyone withdraws from school and get their grants. lmao which is really really sad. For our homecoming concert, we're supposed to have Huey and Dj Unk and some more people. I know MSVU got J.Holiday this year. I might go to theirs too.
