If you really wanted to be a member of the organization ... it is never a matter of asking. If you have to ask should you try again ... you may not be fully dedicated to becoming a member. If I am wrong, then, yes ... you should try. If you first don't succeed ... try again.
.. and by networking connections, I mean present and future connections. Person A that you meet at a party may not necessarily seem like a good or great networking option, but when the years go by and careers are launched, that connect may become one of your strongest.
I agree. Partying is a choice. Many people take advantage of it when they feel the need. I went to school in Atlanta and personally only been to a handful of parties during my entire time there ... went to few clubs, etc. I just knew what i needed to do to succeed. In some cases, mingling at some of the parties (and I do mean just mingling and not fully partaking in all the activities at these parties) could reap great networking connections for yourself.
OK .. 1.) Remind me never to seek medical help in Mexico. Make any and all attempts to cross the border back into the US even if I have multiple gun wounds, a broken neck, and lacerations all over my body. I can see the scenario now:
"We need to get you to the hospital. There's one over there!"
"Nooo! Take me to the US! I don't want to go there! (cough cough)"
"but the border is 100 miles away?"
"Take me to the US!"
Anyways, I'm sure everyone at the funeral was elated that the baby was alive, especially the parents. Let's just hope that the US was not involved in this, otherwise, in a couple months we'll be reading about how the baby in the coffin was not theirs. There was a mix-up at the hospital and the baby in the coffin was another baby that was in a coma and though to be dead. That would suck huh?
Tennessee State has a great page of graduates who have gone on to be very successful in their fields (not just sports and entertainment). Let's start a list of successful business people who have graduated from HBCUs!
Well, we kinda already have something like that on the site. I guess I need to re-link it back into the menu. I'll get it up today.
