After a year of living under a "cloud of suspicion," R&B singer
has been officially cleared of any wrongdoing related to the fatal car accident she was involved in last year. As
previously reported, authorites recently announced their belief that
the woman who died in the car accident,
struck the vehicle in front of her before Brandy made any contact with her car.

Berk went on to say that the last year has been a difficult one for Brandy in light of the C.H.P's initial accusations. "These past 12 months have posed an extraordinary hardship for Brandy and her family, who have been unfairly forced to live under a cloud of suspicion initially caused by the ill-advised and premature press release sent out by the California Highway Patrol accusing Brandy of wrongdoing before the police investigation was even finished," Berk said. "However, Brandy continues to be mindful that she was so fortunate to be uninjured in this accident and there was a life lost that should be remembered." Since the accident occurred, Brandy has been hit with four lawsuits, including suits by Aboudihaj's
a fellow motorist, Mallory Ham
, and a $50 million wrongful death suit from
Brandy stepped down from her role as judge on "America's Got Talent,"
saying she couldn't give the new season the attention and commitment it deserved. [
