-->you're welcome!and don't freak out.lol -->lmao@am i trying to attend Howard? -->i live in Washington DC and go to school literally right across the street from Howard and live a couple blocks down from it. -->ive been on their campus so much i might as well register for classes now.lol --> Howard is an excellent school, don't get me wrong, but its too close to home.the campus and the people don't appeal to me. this lady from their admissions office was just talking to us last week tryna recruit. lol.if i didnt live in DC id prob apply for Howard. -->however, i do plan on applying to: Spelman, Tuskegee, Fisk, temple, Hampton, Johnson C. Smith (mayb..ive been hearing bad stuff about the school), Xavier (another mayb, dont like its location), and Tennessee state (another mayb)-->what other schools are u looking into? -->good luck with Howard by the way!!
You have an excellent list of schools. If you have any questions with respect to Tennessee State University, please let me know. Best wishes with your future endeavors!

If you take your SAT on September 9th, you should be able to make the November 16th deadline. Make sure you study and take the practice test. Good Luck!

Hey jasmineh and HBCUlover! Jasmineh thanks for posting this thread. i'm in the same position as you. i'm going to be a senior this upcoming school year and i also want to apply to Howard early action but like you have yet to take the SAT because of nervousness as well as other reasons. i found out the earliest test date for the SAT this year is sep. 9th so i plan to take the SAT then. Howard is my first choice too. i think the only reason i'm applying to other schools as well is because that's what's expected. HBCUlover, it's too bad your not interested in going to Howard too because you seem like cool people but i don't blame you cuz i'm not tryin to go to college up the street from where i/my parents live either. spelman's not for me (especially since they don't have nursing for a major) but one of my besties wants to go there sooo bad. i should prob. tell her about this website n then you two can talk about spelman or whatever. so yeah but good luck wit all your applications since i see you want to apply to several schools. oh yeah n thanks for all the info about DC anymore would be greatly appreciated. but yeah jasmineh, we gotta make sure we stay on top of those SAT dates (deadlines for registering and test dates n stuff) so we can apply early action to Howard and hopefully get accepted! deuces

I've never been but i believe I've seen some pic of my friends of African celebration and even gay pride.lol.

hey! im glad you can relate to our situation. Howard is great but i think its time i venture out. and most definitely you guys need to start the application process now b/c time flies. i wish i would have met you guys sooner b/c we had a woman from the admissions office talk 2 us last week and i could have mentioned you two or something. but be on top of things. and DC is a great place we have our problems and bad areas just like another other state but when it comes down to it, its awesome. Maryland and Virginia are right next door and you don't have to pay toll to go there like u would when u usually cross the border of a state. the only toll you pay is if u should decide to take the bus or train there (which isn't a long ride at all) Between DC MD and VA you can party hardy, shop till you drop and eat till your parents cant even recognize you anymore. the people are...idk..people i guess.lol. some people are ghetto some people are a bit more proper, some are rude some smile and say hi. we've got our fair share of crazies and crack heads too (be prepared to pass them everyday off campus around Howard.lol). we are divided into 4 parts.there's NE dc, NW dc, SE dc and SW dc (i live in NE). so when u get down here u might hear that a lot. oh yea, we also have fun events that go on downtown and all over DC..depending the date. we have the cherry blossom festival, July 4th celebration at the monument, Caribbean day festival, i even think they have gay pride celebrations and more. the museums are free to visit and the scenery is gorgeous. i, myself am starting to realize as i type how great DC really is.lol -->just ask if you have anymore questions.

lols.np and hopefully i'll be attending Spelman. i'll b down here on breaks tho mayb we could all chill.lol -->oh yea, i can truly relate to what ur saying about being more worried about getting accepted. i would hate to b all excited and turn in my application and end up being rejected=[.talk about bummer! -->my advice to all of you who do not have and account yet will be to create an account with Collegeboard.com. they are the best . u can register with them to take the SAT, u can view the profiles of the schools you would like to attend and they have a calender (once uve chosen your school) that shows u the schools academic schedule, like when they are taking rolling admission..etc and deadlines. -->i believe Howard gives good financial aid. --> we need to all help each other out through out this process.
