Spelman!! Posted on 05-16-2010

Hey everyone!! Ok so I have pretty much made Spelman my first choice! I am so excited, I cannot wait until I am able to apply in August! Being in Atlanta seems like its going to be great! Can anyone tell me the inside details of what it's really like to be a Spelmanite, like about dorms, classes, nightlife and just anything of that nature! Thanks!

Going to spelman was one of the best decisions that I've ever made. Atlanta is a great city, and you will never run out of things to do. We'll start with the dorms. There are 4 freshman dorms. HH,(my dorm!), Manley, LLC, and Abby. Only one has air conditioning, and that is LLC, but mostly honors students get into that one. Even though it does not have air, I would suggest choosing HH. This dorm and Manley have the most convenient locations. Its near the cafeteria, student center, bookstore, mail center, and the front gate. Also, the classes will be difficult, especially ADW...which you will find out about in due time. There is always an opportunity to party and go clubbing. ALWAYS. The men at Morehouse are decent for the most part, sometimes they may get a lil arrogant, but...you'll get use to it. The library is at Clark, so if you plan on studying there, you will make some friends there as well...overall the AUC is one of the best places to pursue an education, and I hope you enjoy it.

good luck. i applied for Early Decision and i hear that I supposed to be getting a letter by like today. something i learned is that when they say "admission response given by" that date is the date that its put in the mail. then most of the time you get it like 8 days after the day they put it in the mail. so good look stalk the mail carrier if you need to lol cause i know i did. good luck girl. email me so we can talk more about this.

I applied for the Early Decision deadline also; my acceptance letter came Tuesday. I AM SOOO EXCITED ABOUT GOING TO SPELMAN!!! Now the search for scholarships to cover that HUGE tuition continues. LOL. Anyways, here in the forum someone said that almost ALL of the girls that applied ED get accepted. Everyone that I know that applied ED has gotten accepted, especially some girls on Twitter. GOOD LUCK!!!
