DUMB STUDENTS AT HBCUs Posted on 11-10-2004
Jugger

I have spent a healthy amount of time at hbcus to understand that most of the students are ignorant. the masses are superficially educated - trained to lust for that which is baseless! students are so apathetic to the politic war that is being waged; they've allowed themselves to be categorized as "adamant democrats", lost in a world devoid of goals. the vote or die campaign was a PERFECT example. black students, collectively, INACTIVE AND INEFFECTIVE. also... homecoming has been transformed into a hip hop/sexual melee that sullies the ground of some of the greatest scholars the world has ever known. (when trick daddy boisteriously repeats the words "Kill that baby, that baby ain't mine" in front of a crowd of women, and men, on the same Yard that struggled to better the condition of blacks, something has gone terribly wrong!) END BLACK APATHY...GET INVOLVED...SERIOUSLY....DEMAND CHANGE!!!! I AM WILLING TO SAY THAT BLACK COLLEGES ARE MADE UP PRIMARILY OF FUTURE UNCLE TOMS. **DISCLAIMER** IM NOT A RACIST

Thanks, but the only reason that I'm going is because I'm on a scholarship and I'm going to open everybody's eyes. I'll show you specific examples of the ignorance and racism that abounds within the black community from the inside. I will be an agent of change. One who can objectively see the HBCU issue for what it is.
I mean, I usually ignore what you say because I don't pay attention to people who thrive off it. But, just to be a nice, honest guy and help you out. You're not gonna act how you act on this board at Howard. The reason? Because you'll get knocked the hell out. Quick. Real Talk. Now I've done my part to help a brother out, so I'ma go back to ignoring your posts...

I've acted this way my whole life and nothing ever happened. I grew up in compton and go to school in compton. I think I'll be alright.

I must say, you have got to be one of the most ignorant people I have heard from on this site. If you hate HBCUs why come to HBCUconnect. Hello :???: I have yet to hear you say one positive thing on this site, and I'm just trying to figure out who hurt your feelings or put the stick up your ass? Let it go!!!

Well I have some issues towards HBCUs because my friend recently turned down some really good schools (namely Stanford) for a HBCU. I think that she has an incredible amount of potential and the research going on there right now would have suited her interests perfectly and set her up for an incredible career. But she chose what she chose (she still wont tell me why, but whatever....)

If she's your friend, shouldn't you support her decision if the decision does no harm to her? I still don't understand your motivation for wanting to attend an HBCU, namely Howard. I'm sure that you could have gotten a scholarship (and laptop) from an institution that better suited your tastes. You talk about opening peoples eyes, but I think you'll be the one on the receiving end if you do actually attend. Like I've said in other posts, Howard University is a great institution of higher learning. It has it's positives and negatives and therefore is like any other university in that respect. However, your university experience is what you make it. If you truly want to benefit from attending, I suggest you be fully involved in many different aspects of Howard life socially, academically, professionally, and spiritually. That way, you'll get the full spectrum of the Howard experience and trust me, there's a lot of Howard to experience. Good luck and in the words of Dap Dunlap, "Wake up!"

I'm awake, yall are the ones still sleeping. I already know what's going to happen when I get to Howard. I'll do my work, be valedictorian, go to Law School, probably Harvard's, and make more money than all of you combined.

It's about time somebody sees the truth. I'm glad I found this post. But I have a theory. It's not that everybody ends up miseducated and ignorant from going to an HBCU, it's that only ignorant and miseducatef future Uncle Toms go in the first place. I'm not racist either (I'm black)

(Ignoring your huge contradiction for just a moment) So you're going to Howard to save us from ourselves? Just when I thought I've heard it all!

"Just when I thought I've heard it all!" Yeah, you would be dumb enough to think that. Only when I'm dead will everything worth hearing be heard. Beacuse everything I say is worth hearing.

^^^With your skewed logic and self-proclaimed superior intellect, I doubt if anything you say is worth listening to. But plenty of your comments on this board are worth one of these  , at best.

First of all, DON'T YOU EVER come onto a Black website calling college students "DUMB." I don't care WHAT they do, you watch the way you speak to us as a people. This is potentially the number 1 problem that I have when I am trying to get along with whites. Secondly, If they are ignorant college students, then YOU are an ignorant HBCU Connect member, because you just ignored the rules! Before you go off taking shots at our HBCUs and our HBCU students, learn who we are, and where we came from. God blesses our institutions in a way that he will NEVER bless those other schools. We don't need billions of dollars in order to be consider a great institution. Also, keep in mind that HBCUs have produced QUALITY people - thank you very much. Before you go off trying to accuse black college students of being ignorant, LEARN THE FACTS MAN! There are white students in universities who act just as bad, so don't even try that. CD
