Y do our people use the "N" word? We all know it means ignorance... so y do we use it so freely? I know if a "white" person was to call me one I would flip out on them for calling me one or even using the word in a sentence or song. So y do we use it without a second thought? I know I'm not alone when I say that there is not one "black" person who wouldn't care if a "white" person was to use the word as often as we do. I personally... did at one time in my life use the word... but later on seen how ignorant I sounded and I quickly took it out of my vocabulary. The word his very disrespectful to our culture. The book Native Son written by Richard Wright for example: the main character Bigger Thomas thought of himself of nothing than a "dumb black N****". If we all keep using the word, then we are just like Bigger Thomas. Don't take this the wrong way... just hear what I'm saying. We are great people and it's time that we proved that we are the great people that our ancestors fought for. if u feel what i am saying holla

my sentiments exactly... well not really, cuz i use it from time to time... but only in the most loving of ways... i don't care who uses it, as long as they aren't using it at ME in a derogatory fashion.
Our people will never stop sayin "N*gga". Let's just face reality.
this is true but i don't think it means nothing should be said. most times it's no use but some minds can be changed.
I feel you sis. What kills me is now we have these white kids in the suburbs sayin nigga. They are listening to rap, watching our hood movies, and hearing their black friends using it so now they think it's cool to say it. I be like "come on Tom, just because you hear your homie Tariq callin your other homie Raheem "his nigga" doesn't mean you can say that as well."
