A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available immediately in the Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle, WA. The successful applicant will work with Dr. Matthias Stephan (http://stephanlab-fhcrc.squarespace.com) to explore the fast-developing and highly interdisciplinary field of immunobioengineering. Using next-generation immunomodulatory synthetic materials, the postdoctoral fellow will develop new approaches to therapeutically manipulate the immune system against cancer (Nature Nanotechnology, April 17 2017, Journal of Clinical Investigation, April 24, 2017, Nature Communications, August 30, 2017).

Suitable applicants should have a recent PhD in immunology or a related field. The ideal candidate will work well in an interactive scientific environment, be intellectually curious, and have experience in all aspects of cellular immunology.
Critical skills include extensive animal science knowledge and extensive experience with animal handling, direct, hands-on experience with, and extensive knowledge of, cellular immunology, oncology, cell-based immune functional assays, flow cytometric analysis and isolation of transformed and primary cells, modulation of tumor microenvironments, and relevant statistical analysis.
