Hagel 1891 - Server
Location: Mt. Sterling, Illinois Reports To: Hagel 1891 General Manager / Chef
Your Role:To ensure guest satisfaction through prompt, courteous, and polished service. Servers are responsible for providing good guest service, taking orders and delivering food.
Answering questions relating to the menu asked by guests
Working in coordination with kitchen employees and other servers to ensure the efficient operation of the restaurant
Maintaining and cleaning their station and tables
Ability to have and share good knowledge of the menu items and our beverage offerings as well as answering questions about the restaurant
Maintain a clean, neat work station, and appearance
Completion of all side work delegated
Applies lean tools and thinking to identify and eliminate waste
Follows and applies standard work and work instructions
Schedule: Part-time: 30+ hours per week; days and times may vary
Schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
Work conditions: Standing for long periods of time, and occasional lifting of product up to 50 pounds
Hot and noisy environment, with areas of odors, moisture, steam, and refrigeration
An Illinois State Food Handler card will be required upon offer.

Some working knowledge of cooking in a restaurant setting
Strong work ethic and desire to learn
Hagel 1891 is a one-of-a-kind restaurant, nestled in the heart of Uptown Mt. Sterling, Illinois. Hagel resides in a building that was originally constructed by the Hagel brothers in 1891. Recently restored and updated in 2014, the facility provides guests with a comfortable, yet unique banquet space to host meetings, parties, rehearsal dinners and receptions.
