Press Advisor for the Clean Energy Program
Third Way seeks a Press Advisor to work with the Clean Energy Program. The successful candidate will be passionate about forging new press relationships, think creatively about elevating Third Way experts in the press, and knowledgeable about public policy and politics.

About the Position
This position reports to the Communications Advisor and will help develop and implement strategies that maximize Third Way’s presence in the media, help plan and coordinate logistics for Third Way media engagements, and assist in media outreach and relationship-building operations.
The press advisor will work closely with the Clean Energy Program and Communications team and perform the following duties:
-Manage and expand relations between media outlets and TW experts.
-Support communications plans with coordination for special initiatives and events.
-Draft media pitches, press releases, Op-Eds, briefs, etc.
-Manage the use of Third Way’s media monitoring, press relations, and government relations databases; maintain and analyze media monitoring for the Clean Energy Program.
-Build and maintain Twitter lists of journalists and influential people in specific policy areas; research possible opportunities for outreach
-Update and maintain media and congressional contact lists.
-Prepare daily and weekly media clips.
-Provide support for email outreach.
-Provide support for pulling and editing clips from events.
-Complete other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate has the following qualifications and skills:
-Bachelor’s Degree required.
-One to two years of experience in a communications office required, preferably in a media relations capacity with social media and digital communications experience.
-Capitol Hill or advocacy organization experience strongly desired.
-Excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
-Ability to effectively present and explain public policy research to the media and general public.
-Initiative, dependability, news and public policy savvy.
-Ability to juggle multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously.
-Able to work under short deadlines, and deliver in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment
