JOB SUMMARY The purpose of this position is to provide support and oversight within the HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides functional support duties (clerical/technical) relative to environmental, health and safety regulatory compliance, as assigned by the HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) Manager/Supervisor.
May assist in providing specific support for monitoring injury, illness, and incident related performance.
May assist in the maintenance of HSE plans, playbooks and procedures, as directed by the HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) manager/supervisor.
Supports cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives as directed.
Supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Client Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and client policies and procedures.
Performs duties related to the hazard identification and control process, safe work planning, inspection and assessment, incident investigation, hazardous materials/waste management, emergency preparedness, fire/life safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, training, safe work procedure development, and regulatory compliance record keeping and documentation.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Minimum of 1 year of HSE related experience preferred.
Fundamental knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental regulations preferred.
Experience working in manufacturing, construction, and facility maintenance and management is beneficial.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with a sense of urgency.
