Residence Education Coordinator - University Residences
Purdue University is seeking applications and nominations for the position of Residence Education Coordinator in the department of Residential Life.

Purdue has recently restructured into two major administrative units reporting to the Provost-Undergraduate Academic Affairs and Student Life. Student Life is focused on the personal, professional and intellectual growth of Purdue students. We in Residential Life view our communities as "living learning laboratories" and as such are seeking Residence Education Coordinators - educators who are committed to teaching and embody the concept of being a "life-long learner".

Residence Education Coordinators (RECs) are responsible for developing strong residential communities; forming relationships with individual students; coaching and supervising student staff; implementing area-specific residential curriculum plans, facilitating educational opportunities including student conduct meetings and student leadership experiences, communicating with parents and other stakeholders, and organizing opening and closing processes. Residence Education Coordinators create and promote a learning centered, nurturing residential community, and must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
Master's degree in Higher Education or related field.
One year professional work experience. Graduate experience would count towards the minimum.
A valid US or Canadian Driver's License.
Strong communication skills.
Competencies for this position are work standards, communication, interpersonal and intercultural relations, and decision making.
Additional competencies may include financial management, coaching and leading people, strategic thinking, and drive for results.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from different viewpoints and backgrounds and teamwork in daily work activity.
Preferred:

One year of experience in Residential Life or Student Affairs.
A demonstrated commitment to student learning; experience working with faculty; experience developing or working with a curriculum; ability to provide an example of collaborative programmatic efforts.
Additional Information:

This posting represents two vacancies.
This is a live-on position within University Housing with a 12-month apartment and board plan.
Purdue will not sponsor employment authorization this position.
This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
A Background Check will be required for employment in this position.
FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible for Overtime).
Retirement Eligibility: Defined Contribution Waiting Period.
