Description The University of Notre Dame's Keough School of Global Affairs invites applications for a faculty position in global education, with a preference for scholars whose work and interests include a focus on the intersection of education and development or international and comparative education policy. Scholars engaged in rigorous social science research from a variety of disciplines - economics, political science, sociology, education, and others - will be considered. Applicants should have an interest in interdisciplinary cooperation. Applicants attracted to a university with a Catholic identity are especially encouraged to apply. While priority will be given to consideration of junior candidates (ABD, postdoc, assistant professors or non-tenured associate professors), senior applicants may also be considered. Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree required at the time of hire.
Qualifications The successful hire will be based in the Keough School of Global Affairs, with affiliations in the Kellogg Institute for International Studies and in Notre Dame's Institute for Educational Initiatives. Oriented toward research, teaching, and service dedicated to the advancement of integral human development, the Keough School (http://keough.nd.edu/) promotes interdisciplinary research on critical issues in global affairs, offers a master's degree, and supports undergraduate and doctoral programs. The Kellogg Institute for International Studies (http://kellogg.nd.edu/) has for over 35 years been a leading center for interdisciplinary research and programming on issues of democracy and human development. The Institute for Educational Initiatives (http://iei.nd.edu/) provides a home for nearly one hundred faculty fellows from across the University whose research and teaching interests focus on K-12 education, with a particular interest in Catholic education. Joint or concurrent appointments in the appropriate departments are also possible.
