Recommerce Operations Specialist
Through various primary and secondary marketplace channels, Best Buy needs to effectively manage and sell approximately 3 billion dollars in inventory each year. We do not recoup the total cost associated with the return and resale of these products, so maximizing and measuring recovery is extremely important to the success and profitability of the enterprise.
This role will primarily support the electronics and appliances recycling managers (waste hauling and logistics centers/packaging recycling are secondary and as schedule permits). This role will focus on an operational day to day execution and will facilitate and contribute to the creation of the operational plan. This role is responsible for delivering an aligned and comprehensive plan to maximize the customer experience, the employee experience, and ensuring that assigned programs run consistently and problem-free. The Recommerce Operations Specialist supports the assigned program managers with run-the-business activities and contributes to category and project work.
This role will be highly collaborative and responsible to communicate insights and recommendations from the business processes to drive operational results.
Respond and provide support to Retail and Supply Chain departments for electronics and appliances recycling program operationsEssential Functions
Develop an ongoing end to end operational strategy to support the business. Direct responsibility for execution against operational plans and processes, with an eye towards improvements identified during daily activity.
Leverage, integrate with and influence operational support capabilities across the organization to ensure efficiency and consistency, address immediate systematic breakdowns, and provide resolutions in a timely manner.
Partner with Supply Chain and Retail teams, Enterprise Learning and Development, and other partners to ensure holistic operational strategies are developed and executed.
Engage with retail, supply chain and other key partners to ensure strategies and information are developed with a retail/logistics/reverse flow operational lens.
Ensure business, retail and program strategies are aligned in support of the employee and customer experience.
Support retail teams in managing inbound service and escalation support.
Proactive operational planning and improvements
Develop proactive field measures for key calendar events/drive times and seasonality planning to ensure program execution breakdowns do not occur.
Provide operational subject matter expertise throughout the broader operational organization. Bring learnings forward from across the broader operational organization and teach best practices to drive improvements, efficiencies, cost reduction, and rebate enhancements, where applicable.
Involved in recycling team strategy and run the business decisions.
Act as operational and recycling/end of life SME and represent field feedback throughout the decision-making process.

Proactively works to ensure that operational efficiencies are identified, acted upon, financial opportunities are maximized, all with a lens of creating improved employee experience and cost containment.

Prepare and deliver effective communications up, down and across the organization
2 years of experience in recycling, waste management, environmental services, retail and/or supply chain operations
Ability to develop cross-functional partnerships, align teams and drive operational excellence
Ability to identify problems, seek solutions, gain consensus and move to resolution quickly
