Housekeeping Aid

The employee properly operates powered equipment. This includes blowers, vacuums, pressure washers, and similar equipment; properly operates compactors, pallet jackets, and other similar furniture moving equipment; properly inspects, corrects and or reports ton instances whereas assignments cannot be completed safely and timely. The incumbent properly secures areas for cleaning to protect persons and property; safely and timely removes trash, cleans receptacles, cleans windows inside/out, and other cleaning activities to support the Environmental Management Service mission.

The employee properly maintains and secures equipment used in support of EMS operations; assists as directed in external and internal Event Setups; assists as directed in heavy lifting and moving of furniture in support of EMS and facility activities; pressure washes surfaces, windows, patios, carts, equipment, and or other items as directed in a safe and timely manner. The incumbent moves, removes, and replaces fixtures, trash receptacles, benches, chairs, and other items to successfully complete assignments safely and timely.

Work Schedule: 7:00 am 3:30 pm or 3:30 pm to Midnight

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Employee must be capable of continuous activity involving standing, stooping, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, climbing, pulling, and pushing. The lifting occasionally may involve loads of over 50 pounds. Also, employee occasionally works on ladders or scaffolds, dust high areas, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is usually performed indoors where adequate heat, light and ventilation are available. Employee is exposed to infectious material and sharp objects. This position may require Saturday, Sunday, and or holiday duty. The employee may be assigned to any shift authorized based on the needs of the Environmental Management Department.
