Microsoft Support Engineer
3+ years in a customer facing service role in any capacity "
2+ years of experience in technology, support, training, consulting, architecting, development, network, data center operations, IT admin or operations or equivalent education
Bilingual preferred though not required: Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, Japanese"
Windows System Administration/Virtualization
Windows scripting or PowerShell
Linux OSS (preferred but not required)
LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PhP or Python)
o Hyper-V configuration and administration
o Linux script-based development environments and tools (PERL, Python, Ruby, PhP, etc.)
o administering Linux (boot process, file systems, network device and protocol configuration)
o load balancing, geo-redundancy, CDN and VPN technologies preferred
o OSI model and related concepts
o Virtualization concepts and virtual system administration
o concepts like AP, Json templates
o storage technologies (cloud and/or on premises)
o RDP protocol
o Active Directory, Security, OS Internals concepts
o system management tools such as SCOM
o networking concepts including VIPs, NAT, DNS
o networking tools (ping, tracert, tracemon, wire shark, etc.)
o routing and routing protocols such as BGP or OSPF
o one or more shell environments (BASH, sh, tcsh, ksh, etc.)
o core OS services such as: SSH, telnet, FTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, Samba, LDAP
o IIS and HTTP protocol"
