This Application System Engineer is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of data transmission software products and supporting tools for the Enterprise Data Transmission Services organization (EDTS) They will also be responsible for the development activities associated with Axway & IBM Managed File Transfer (MFT) products and custom developed tools.This is a senior hands on technology position in Enterprise Data Transmissions Services (EDTS) focusing on security, solutions, automation and Integration.  This role is part of a small but high performing group of developers and engineers responsible for automation/solution/integration/development of necessary tools for Managed File Transmission (MFT) systems.

Additional responsibilities include:
• Drive technology transformation initiative end to end from solution identification to implementation
• Responsible for leading large project technology solution implementation end to end
• Collaborating with Business, architecture, platform group to define target state architecture
• Drive detailed technical design and perform design review
• Partners with Product managers to deliver enhancements to the platform
• Provides hands-on technology leadership
• Challenge status quo and be a change agent to drive implementation of technology solution.

In summary, ensure that the solutions that we provide are secure, stable, simple, and usable to ensure project delivery success.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of application development and implementation experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 7+ years of UNIX experience
  • 5+ years of risk and regulatory compliance experience
  • 5+ years of Linux experience
  • 5+ years of SQL experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 7+ years of Enterprise level Data Transmission Services experience
  • 7+ years of experience working with MFT solutions such as Axway Secure Transport, IBM Secure File Gateway
  • Experience with Java or similar programming language
  • 7+ years of experience with providing automated solutions
  • 7+ years of experience with NDM
  • 5+ years of experience working with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL server
  • 5+ years of RHEL experience
  • 5+ years of experience in application & data architecture and solution design
  • 2+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services experience
  • Ability to understand technical problems and articulate a corresponding solution

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
