Assistant Professor in Ceramics
New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor in Ceramics. Qualified candidates will have an M.F.A. in Studio Art with emphasis in ceramics or related field. Ideal applicants will have a congruent national/international research record including creative work from the last three years; a minimum of two years university-level teaching experience beyond graduate school; an expertise in a range of traditional and contemporary methods, fabrication techniques and critical issues related to art and three–dimensional media; demonstrated ability to work with graduate students in a cross-media program; an aptitude for providing instruction on professional practices in the field of art; a knowledge of current safety and health standards in the field of ceramics; a capacity for overseeing equipment in a multi-room facility; and willingness to work with a diverse faculty and student population. Preferred candidates will have technical ability in 3D digital production and familiarity with contemporary art history and theory.
