The Compliance Monitoring and Audit Analyst is responsible for providing objective and professional evaluations of the company’s compliance operations by participating in compliance program monitoring activities and audits. The incumbent helps ensures enterprise-wide business unit compliance monitoring programs are in place, compliance audits are conducted, results reported, and appropriate corrective actions are taken. Additionally, the incumbent assists in monitoring and auditing compliance with company policies, procedures, government regulations and quality controls in order to identify risks and non-compliance so corrective action plans can be developed. The incumbent’s responsibilities also include participating in targeted monitoring reviews and audits based on identified and prioritized risk areas resulting from compliance issues identified by government agencies, new regulatory requirements, changes in business practices, and other considerations. In addition, the incumbent participates in reviews to ensure the appropriate compliance processes and procedures are in place and that these compliance processes and procedures provide the desired results. He/she also assists in the analysis of compliance data to identifying both trends and opportunities for improvement to enterprise-wide ethics and compliance efforts.
Contributes to and participate in compliance monitoring and audit programs to ensure:
Enterprise-wide compliance is achieved for company policies, procedures, government regulations, and quality controls and potential risks and non-compliance issues are identified and corrective action plans are developed;
Enterprise-wide business unit compliance monitoring programs are in place;
Compliance audits are conducted, results reported, and appropriate corrective actions are taken;
Targeted monitoring reviews and audits are conducted based on compliance issues identified by government agencies, new regulatory requirements, changes in business practices, and other considerations;
The appropriate compliance processes and procedures are in place and these compliance processes and procedures provide the desired results.
Assists in on-site compliance reviews at WIRS sites, mail order locations, retail stores, and distribution centers, etc. to validate compliance with various components of the compliance program.
Assists in and contributes to the annual compliance function risk assessments, by identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability, helping prioritize compliance risk issues, and assisting in the development/publishing an annual monitoring/audit plan to address the compliance risk areas.
Assists in the enterprise-wide trend analysis to identify patterns and variations in adhering to compliance elements to identifying opportunities for improvement to enterprise-wide ethics and compliance efforts.
Assists in and Contributes to reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to keep the Chief Compliance Officer and senior management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts.
Assists in identifying emerging and ongoing industry compliance trends and assists in the development of tactical solutions.
Performs research, gathers information and makes suggestions, recommendations on procedural improvements for areas of responsibility.
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years experience in the audit function (such as audit, quality or compliance) OR a High School Diploma / GED and at least 6 years experience in the audit function (such as audit, quality or compliance)
At least 3 years experience contributing to an annual audit plan, participating in audits, and reviewing the adequacy of business unit operational performance/compliance monitoring metrics
At least 3 years experience developing metrics, analyzing data, and converting it into information which can be used to identify potential risk areas, trends, corrective action plans and drive improvement and efficiency.
Experience working across a matrix organization, with more than one level of management interface and competing priorities.
Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.
Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors.
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel 2003 or later (formatting text and borders of cells, working with workbooks and worksheets, using range names, referencing cells, sorting, and auto filtering).
Basic level skill in Microsoft Access 2003 or later (entering data, setting up tables, adding new records, working with forms, filtering data, running queries).
Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels within an organization.
