Job Description
ELEMENTARY TEACHER
We are seeking a talented, compassionate, committed Elementary School teacher dedicated to meeting the needs of traditionally underserved children. The ideal candidate would be someone who enjoys the challenge of a fast-paced, collaborative environment and being part of building a growing school. Class sizes typically range between 18-20 students. This position is full-time and reports to the Lower School Division Head. Salary is competitive and based on experience and education.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Develop and implement curriculum in collaboration with other teachers
• Deliver dynamic and creative instruction
• Identify students who are not meeting benchmarks and plan appropriate interventions
• Administer assessments, address findings, and integrate use of data to improve instruction
• Mentor a teaching fellow
• Meet and communicate with parents/guardians
• Serve as an advisor for a group of students
• Collaborate with other teachers and administrators
• Fulfill other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
• Master’s degree in elementary or secondary education much preferred
• At least 3 to 4 years of experience teaching in an elementary school or early learning center
• Must have completed MTEL by the end of their first year with Bridge Boston or have MA teachers licensure, including SEI endorsement
• Excellent organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, people skills and the willingness to be a team player
• Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity; belief in the value of diversity
• Clear willingness to make and learn from mistakes; values and solicits critical feedback
• Bilingual Spanish, Haitian-Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole highly desirable

Bridge Boston is a public charter school that opened in the fall of 2011 serving children in Roxbury and the surrounding community – many of whom have experienced emotional, social, and developmental barriers to learning. In the 2019-2020 school year we will reach maturity with 335 students in pre-Kindergarten through grade 8.
