ELEMENTARY TEACHER We are seeking a talented, compassionate, committed Elementary School teacher dedicated to meeting the needs of traditionally underserved children. The ideal candidate would be someone who enjoys the challenge of a fast-paced, collaborative environment and being part of building a growing school. Class sizes typically range between 18-20 students. This position is full-time and reports to the Lower School Division Head. Salary is competitive and based on experience and education. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Develop and implement curriculum in collaboration with other teachers Deliver dynamic and creative instruction Identify students who are not meeting benchmarks and plan appropriate interventions Administer assessments, address findings, and integrate use of data to improve instruction Mentor a teaching fellow Meet and communicate with parents/guardians Serve as an advisor for a group of students Collaborate with other teachers and administrators Fulfill other duties as assigned Masters degree in elementary or secondary education much preferred At least 3 to 4 years of experience teaching in an elementary school or early learning center Must have completed MTEL by the end of their first year with Bridge Boston or have MA teachers licensure, including SEI endorsement Excellent organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, people skills and the willingness to be a team player Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity; belief in the value of diversity Clear willingness to make and learn from mistakes; values and solicits critical feedback Bilingual Spanish, Haitian-Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole highly desirable HOW TO APPLY Interested applicants should complete the Bridge Boston Job Application Form https://goo.gl/forms/xryrKuBkUTN6A5es1 , which includes submission of a resume and cover letter. Bridge Boston is a public charter school that opened in the fall of 2011 serving children in Roxbury and the surrounding community many of whom have experienced emotional, social, and developmental barriers to learning. In the 2019-2020 school year we will reach maturity with 335 students in pre-Kindergarten through grade 8.
