My beloved brothers and sisters, along with preaching, singing, conflict resolution, parental development, etc., I also have been blessed to do motivational speaking.
I added to this great site my presentation from November 7th, 2008 at Trombly Alternative High School in Detroit, MI. (The music in the background is my version of the old Sam Cooke’s version of A Change Is Going To Come). It is a school for brothers and sisters that have had a history of difficulty remaining in the regular system. That particular school asked me to work with a young man at the end of this past school year; a young man who was selling drugs, barely attending classes, and carrying six F's on his report card. The Lord blessed my efforts. In less than two months his final grades were three D's two C's and a B. Being 15 years of age 6 feet and 4 inches tall, he played basketball the entire summer. There were days I was blessed to drive 30 miles to take him to practice, one of my frat brothers who is a dentist fixed a cavity, cleaned his teeth, took him out to dinner and even paid for his hair cut. Now he is at a Class A high school starting on the basketball team, calls me daily about his home work etc. After the election of Brother Obama we talked about change, his position was that if no one else is going to change, he is.
