What Is Education? (1807 hits)

What Is Education?

Black Americans who are descendents of slaves makes a big fuss about education and how education is primary.

Well, what is education thinking outside the box? In other words, thinking beyond the dictionary’s definition.

Black Americans bothers the hell out of White people about education, but who educated White Americans from the get-go?

So, again, what is education?

Tell me what you think.

Here’s how Webster’s defines it:

1. The act or process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life.
2. The act or process of imparting or acquiring particular knowledge or skills, as for a profession.
3. A degree, level, or kind of schooling: a university education.
4. The result produced by instruction, training, or study: to show one's education.
5. The science or art of teaching; pedagogics.

Too many think its just going to school, reading books and taking tests to see how much of what you read, you remember, which to me is incomplete.

It cannot be education unless it leads one to acquire an ability to think; to take all those books and stuff as input, and have the mental ability to process it using logic and reason, and produce relevant output that can evaluate to some form of “truth.”

I've learned the basics in Elementary, Middle school. By High school though I wasn't attentive enough, my cognition wasn't there.. I had no aspirations to be educated, and typically did what most youth today do I didn't know any better. Except I saw the path I was on and mentally I reached that awareness point that not many reach until later life and I changed that. You haveto be open to change and the acceptance is evolving, and cultivating the views people have over time.

I began to educate myself, hours a day.. I made goals and accomplished them, I set my priority's and thought out what I want to do. Alot of people limit themselves, but I've learned that being educated is far more beneficial than anything I ever thought was possible. I didn't know better, but I still credit some teachers.

We live complex lives, modeling our way of life on socially acceptable norms and a social structure that just isn't working. I'm happy about where I am today, but I feel for the people who aren't. I take all views on a even platform, I analyze them and determine if they're beneficial what I can learn from them.. If I agree with them. Construction in the idea's and ways we bring about change come from disagreements and the ability to work together.

Derek, when you said that you reached an "awareness point," what was that and how did the revelation come about? Was there an incident or person that inspired you?

Thursday, December 10th 2009 at 4:41PM
I graduated from High school, some friends went off to college.. while
others went to jail. I thought to myself which category do I want to
model myself after, what life did I want to lead. Do i want a successful
future and see my dreams come true or do I want to be in a jail cell and hold regret for things when I know better. I distanced myself from the negative people in my life, negative friends and even family and it's allowed me to excel.
I invested my time and energy and molded my life into something better than what it was before, and will continue to.. All people should continue to learn, that includes you Harry.

You asked “ what is education?” and then “what is education thinking outside the box?”
and finally “ who educated White Americans from the get-go”.

I will throw my 2 cents in the mix , look around your computer desk, count how many products were patented ideas, researched, designed and sold by educated men and women. Now count how many products were created and sold by uneducated people. Education builds wealth in my opinion.

An education may not be a one hit wonder for success, but it is necessary. You may be naturally gifted with a high IQ, but an education teaches you about the US financial system, sciences from around the world and how to program a computer ( for example ). It also teaches how to communicate and implement opportunities with your countrymen, in other words, if you are writing a business plan, you might want to go and learn how to do.

Finally, look at the native American Indians, they were essentially powerless, until those that could went and earned law degrees and business degrees. Ultimately, it is a game of skill, but you will need to learn the basics that education provides.

Hello Clark,

I will begin by saying that I understand Webster’s definition of education and I agree. However, Webster’s definition is the second tier and not the first tier of what education is.

I will give you two examples of what I mean from two of the definitions you provided.
Take #1, how would you acquire knowledge if there were no one to impart it?
Take #4, suppose there is no one to instruct you or train you, how would you become educated? In other words, someone had to instruct the instructor, am I right.

So, again, what is education? How do education gets its start?

I believe that once Black Americans know what education is they will rationalize how to climb the next step on the ladder.

Tell me what you think.

Hello Derek,

Really, you have not told me what education is. What you did was that you gave me a personal testimony, am I right.

So, again, what is education? How does education gets its start?

Suppose you and one million people of your race were suddenly dumped on a barren planet very similar to earth and 300 years later you have multiplied to one billion people and thriving.

Now, what did you do to thrive and increase your population to one billion?

Tell me what you think.

Hello Mr. Weston,

It seems to me that you have linked education to US financial system and used the Native American Indians to support your rationale.

But, supposedly when God created the earth and man they were no US financial system, am I right.

So, again, what is education? How does education get its start?

I believe that I know what education is with out the use of Webster’s definition.

But, you all tell me what you think that education is and if you are right, I will not be able to shake your understanding of education from you. The same criteria will apply to me when I give you what I know that education is. Does that make any sense to you?

Tell me what you think.

Mr. Harry,

The first thing about education, is wanting to learn. You cannot force somebody to. Once you do start learning, to never stop like what I said earlier. You might be a teacher, but if you've been preaching the same thing for the past 10 years its become obsolete. The intricacy of learning, that some may require more attention while others can be left alone.

Also, your analogy left out how more than one race helped build America to thrive, but what is thriving? Are we seeing this in the main street Black community's ? Or for that matter, if the mainstream Black community's where thriving and prosperous would they get that way by squandering their profits away on frivolous materials to out compete who can be more ignorant with money ? I feel that saving money, investing money to gain more.. is more in line to what thriving would more resemble.

In order to grow, and develop a nation to thrive you need a structured government without outside influence. You need a tangible currency that cannot be inflated and abused. Theirs countless things you need that I won't go into.

"Education" can be perceived differently by different people. But if you are educated, you will have a great life.. you will live happy, find the solutions to your problems and be wealthy. Some are educated in specific area's and that's their claim to fame .. Einstein in physics, Bill Gates with computers,Michael Jordan in basketball.. the definition of education can be explained by ones actions to problems infront of them.

Formal education should start at early ages, and get more advanced. I feel as if teachers will be a thing of the past, with all the worlds information infront of us.. we can learn alot more than what we do in the schools now. I don't expect aged generations to be as educated as a whole, compared to the up and coming ones. But I expect us to show them how to learn, and ask questions find answers to the problems we created or never solved and instill in them to be better.

Friday, December 11th 2009 at 7:59AM
Hello Derek,

You said this, “The first thing about education, is wanting to learn.”
You are absolutely correct. The person must have an unquenchable thirst or curiosity to know about some specific thing and how it works as God created it. If you take the medical profession as an example, it began from the first person who had a curiosity to understand the anatomy of the human body. This person is his race and then humanity’s first doctor. Now, when you factor into account a certain percentage of his race to be doctors, engineers, inventors and all the other sciences, professions and trades then that race of people would inadvertently have the advantages of becoming a leading race and the good steward of the earth.

So, again, you are correct. Education begins with the curiosity or the unquenchable thirst to know about some specific thing and how it works then what is learned is passed on to others as a formal education.

Everyone explained what a formal education is.

Okay, now that we agree what education is in its raw form, do you think that Black Americans are educated people? I asked this question because education more so the individual’s race rather than the individual. Remember that education is the security of a race from attacks or being overcome by another race. Education is the first line of defense and if you are not an educated people, your days are numbered.

So, again, are Black Americans educated people?

Tell me what you think.

Hello Harry,

The last answer I gave, you agreed with, but asked for another. Okay:
Education is a requirement for sovereignty. Do you agree?

Well perhaps for a person with ADHD like Harry who can't keep their mouth shut for more than 5 minutes and just gotta do or say something ass-backwards I guess to prove that they're still alive and breathing....just existing and being content with one's own self may seem unimaginable....but for Allah nothing is impossible.

We may never know when or even why Allah created the universe in the first place, but I'm PRETTY SURE it wasn't out of loneliness or boredom...LOL.

NOW YOU SOUND LIKE A WOMAN SCORN, YOU RAN OUT OF KNOWLEDGE ON THIS ONE, SO AS USUAL YOU RESORTED TO INSULTS, CAUSE THATS ALL YOU GOT, USE YOUR SOVEREIGNITY TEACHINGS TO REFUTE WHAT I SAID, OH YOU AINT GOT ANY! MONKEY GIBBERISH IS WHAT YOUR USING, YOU KNOW WHAT IM SAYING, DONT ACT LIKE ITS NOT EFFECTING YOU, YOU GOT NOTHING FOR THIS, BESIDES ANGER?

Hello Steve,

You said this, “The last answer I gave, you agreed with, but asked for another.”

Steve, I do not see any where on this blog that you gave an answer to what education is.

Anyway, you said this, “Education is a requirement for sovereignty. Do you agree?”

Steve, education is not a requirement for sovereignty. The requirement for sovereignty is to want it. Any Black American could be dumb as hell, but have enough sense to want to have their hands on the helm of their own destiny is all that is required to become a sovereign people.

For instance, many of the Hebrews that followed Moses out of Egypt were dumb as hell, but they had enough intelligence to want out of Egypt, slavery and bondage.

In other words, all that is needed of Clark, Weston, Siebra and Irma is as much intelligence or an IQ as high as a sixth grader and Black Americans could become a sovereign people on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders in less time than it took the Hebrews to leave Egypt.

Derek said what education is. Education is a burning curiosity to understand how a specific thing works. Such a person is a trailblazer or a pioneer. Presently, Black Americans are not trailblazers; they are followers, mostly of White people.

In other words, White America has to take something off their drawing board and implementing on Black Americans since Black Americans do not have a drawing board of their own. Now, after White America’s plan has been in operation for a reasonable amount of time, then Black Americans figures out that White America has hoodwinked them once again. This is how it has always been since slavery.

However, all of that is going to stop since I am Black America’s first genuine prophet to lead Black Americans out of their dire predicament and into sovereignty as Moses did with his Hebrew people.

So, since I have said all this, do you believe that Black Americans are educated people?

Tell me what you think.

Mr. Harry.

You asked me this "So, again, are Black Americans educated people? "

My answer is this, yes. African American's are educated people, to a degree every ethnicity is. As a whole though, do I feel that the crime, and poverty .. issues that happen under circumstance are imposed because of lack of education ? ? It depends. I don't look that far into it, I feel that we're all capable of learning the same amount and that education holds no barriers to how far we can go.

Friday, December 11th 2009 at 4:35PM
Harry said "many of the Hebrews that followed Moses out of Egypt were dumb as hell"

is that why they followed Moses - because they were dumb as hell? So like Moses, you also need people to follow you, should many of them also be dumb as hell?
Friday, December 11th 2009 at 4:40PM
Okay a serious thought here - Harry said "In other words, all that is needed of Clark, Weston, Siebra and Irma is as much intelligence or an IQ as high as a sixth grader and Black Americans could become a sovereign people on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders in less time than it took the Hebrews to leave Egypt"

Harry,

If I understand you correctly, you elude that early white colonist were able to build a land without
education and blacks could do the same?

I don't think you have actually considered history – in the early 1600s white colonist built this country with money from the King across the pond my friend.

COLONY NAME YEAR FOUNDED FOUNDED BY BECAME ROYAL COLONY
Virginia 1607 - London Company
1624 Massachusetts
1620 Puritans
1691 New Hampshire 1623 John Wheelwright
1679 Maryland 1634 Lord Baltimore N/A
Connecticut c. 1635 Thomas Hooker N/A
Rhode Island 1636 Roger Williams N/A
Delaware 1638 Peter Minuit and New Sweden Company N/A
North Carolina 1653 Virginians 1729
South Carolina 1663 Eight Nobles with a Royal Charter from Charles II 1729
New Jersey 1664 Lord Berkeley and Sir George Carteret 1702
New York 1664 Duke of York
1685 Pennsylvania 1682 William Penn N/A
Georgia 1732 James Edward Oglethorpe 1752

Not only were they educated but had (in todays money) – would be billions of dollars behind them. You're asking blacks Americans to do this without education and money............I think that is a monstrousness task – but I am not judging you – I am just being objective........

Hello Steve,

You said this, “Okay Harry, so you have an uneducated sovereign. Then what?”

I am sorry Steve, but I do not understand what you are trying to say. Please explain yourself.

What say you?

Hello Mr. Weston,

Mr. Weston, since you posted comments I will try to answer both of them now.

You said this, “is that why they followed Moses - because they were dumb as hell?”

I believe I said more than just being dumb. I said that what was necessary for the Hebrew people were to have a desire to be free and an IQ as high as a sixth grader, am I right.

Now, as far as your second post comment is concern I do not think you understand the gravity of what you are saying, so let me explain it to you. I believe that I have more insight than you do and please do not be offended.

You said this, “If I understand you correctly, you elude that early white colonist were able to build a land without education and blacks could do the same?”

The early colonist used their common sense, wits, cleverness while gaining frontier experience as they went along to take care of themselves while they took this continent from the indigenous Indians, which has nothing to do with education, am I right. What the colonist had and exhibited was a desire to be free of England and have something of their own that today is the greatest country the world has ever seen, am I right.

Now, I do not think that you believe it could happen for Blacks in the same exact way. However, Blacks do need to develop the instinct, personality and desire to be a sovereign people and have something of our own on a portion of this continent that perhaps one day in the future our country could become the greatest country the world has ever seen, am I right. But we need to start at some point.

Black Americans started out as slaves. When is this status of Black Americans going to change? This status will never change until we take off the jacket of slave mentality. The only change in status that slaves could make is to become a sovereign people. Does that make any sense to you Mr. Weston?

Now, as far as the London Company and the others were nothing more than entrepreneurs or investors. They were already doing well in England when they propositioned as many un-educated British citizens to go to this new continent. All the elites starting with King George were increasing their wealth from the colonists until the colonists realize that they could come together and become a nation, which later became the United States of America, am I right Mr. Weston.

Tell me what you think.

Hello Derek,

You said this, “….yes. African American's are educated people,…”

Firstly, let me correct how you see Black Americans who are descendents of slaves, okay. An African-American is entirely a different person from a Black American. An African American is a person of African origin by birth, parents or both that became a citizen of the United States. On the other hand, a Black American descended from Whites and Africans. The paramount differences are that Black Americans are descendents of slaves while African Americans are not.

Well, the truthful answer to my question, do you believe that Black Americans are educated people, the answer is emphatically no. When a race of people is educated that education will benefit those people. Black America’s inventions have only benefited White America since White America trained Black Americans. Therefore, when Black Americans invents anything it automatically benefits White America. So, you could say that White America is getting dividends on their investment since White America controls the destiny of Black Americans, am I right.

For instance, White Americans are educated people since their education benefits them and the world acknowledges this from their many technologies and advancements on the world’s stage.

Next, are Chinese educated people? Of course they are. Their education has benefited them and White America as part of the world acknowledges the technologies and advancements of China.

So, do you see my point? Black Americans must come from under the control of White Americans to have a life as White America and Chinese people have. That calls for the sovereignty of Black Americans on a portion of this continent that we can call our very own country with borders. Then and only then could the world consider that Black Americans are educated people.

One of the obvious signs that Black Americans are educated is when they personally as a people desire to benefit from their own education and that means they must be in a position to educate themselves. Consequentially, Black Americans will have to be in a sovereignty position to educate themselves and their descendents as well to compete globally. Mr. Clark and Mr. Weston do not think this way. Therefore, anything that either of them invents will benefit White America the same as with Dr. George Washington Carver. Everything that Dr. Carver invented or discovered about the peanut benefited White America. Am I making any sense with you Mr. Derek?

Tell me what you think.

Hello Irma,

I have said to you over and over that I do not dialogue with you. You are not a person that honestly and in good faith exchange positive views. You are a one-person conversationalist and you mostly criticize. The experience I have had with you serves neither of us any good.

On the other hand, other BIA members avoid dialoguing with me because they do not like to be challenged, yet they knowledge that challenging each other is good when necessary and for educational purposes.

We, as a people mentally are in a sad situation that only the help of God could suffice.

The BIA members constantly talks about a solution for Black Americans and I have been providing them with our only permanent solution of embracing the concept of sovereignty on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders. They never said that I was wrong; nevertheless, they keep searching for a solution. If that is not dumb, then I do not know what dumb is.

So, Ms. Irma, when you decide that you could dialogue honestly and in good faith, I would be happy to dialogue with you.

Okay.

And,may I add how it took actual trials and errors before they were able to even figure out about the AFRICANS as being needed to make america work in the first place...

They tried White europeans who they called indunctured servents. but, because they we the same color and could speak the same language it was too much of an effort to bring them back to pay back their years of pledged work contracts, because it was almost imposiable to prove they were your servents-slaves...

They then tried the Native-Americans, but they fought back or just wiilled them selves to die therefore this did not work in their favor either...

and, here is a fact that too few of us know...it was rice and not cotton that brought the needs of Africans...BUT THEY CAN NOT ADMIT TAT IT WAS THE BRAIN POWERS AND THE INVENTIONS OF THE AFRICANS THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE IN MAKING RICE GROW IN THE SOUTH...please check and books that ?Are African -centued (or spend some times watching the education channels)that have all of this knowledge out from those archives that our American government can no longer hide from the Black Think Tank....

i DO LOVE PROPER EDUCATION...and how as my sainted grandmother use to say, "WHAT IS DONE IN THE DARK WILL SURELY COME TO THE LIGHT"(smile)

Oh Harry a lot of these facts were recorded by the Chattel slaves them selves...lol

e-d-u-c-a-t-i-o-n THAT hARRY LIKE OUR GOVERNMENT IS NOT WILLING TO ALLOW WE HAVE MENTALAIty AND to accept our (human's )NEVER ENDING NEED TO KNOW!!!!!! and, let us not forget the scienticif way or demandint the truth or facts that don't change...

Harry am "I" making a TRUE statment when "I" say Harry does not have a Nation under any of the instrutions or that God has santioned you to get as the First black Prophet?????????

Is Harry going to give the African -American under his label of Black decedants of slaves the freedoms they already have such as being free to do the hings like eat what they want go where they want and live where they want or will you be required to take al of these away from them...can they have any of the brain powers they have like those they have adjusted to seeing as happinses and free will that you call whining and complaining or will you be doing all of this for them or as I say how can you even be taling about the present as wrong because you your self are doing every thing tht you have learned in your life time and it is in a part of this White influnce that his you thinking this way...or I gues I am wrong and you do not exist until after you get your nation...I sure see you speaking to me and understanding me by using exactly what you keep saying as Black decendants are doing,,,seeking a better place for them NOT YOU,huh.....(smile)

Harry when you cansay "I" have done and not "I" will do then I can better respect you, but I can in no way accept a full grown adulting blaming others for thr accomplishment by saying what they WILL DO...WILL HAVE...HELL YOU CAN NOT EVEN DO WHAT YOU SAY THat GOD HAS ASKED YOU TO DO , HAVE GIVEN YOU TO DO...

P-L-EA-S-E give yourself a much needed brake...from telling us what you have not been able to do...
