Until the end of 2009 Dr. Walters served as director of the African American Leadership Institute and Scholar Practitioner Program, and as a distinguished leadership scholar at the James MacGregor Burns Academy of Leadership @ The University of Maryland. A true “scholar activist”, Dr. Walters has penned seven books, published more than 100 academic articles and served as a campaign manager and consultant for the Reverend Jesse Jackson during his two presidential bids and was a policy adviser for Congressmen Charles Diggs and William Gray. During the 2000 election season, Walters worked as a political analyst for Black Entertainment Television's Lead Story. He is a regular guest and commentator for several political talk shows on radio and television.

Ms. Broussard has taught French in public schools in New York City, Connecticut, California and St. Louis and has earned National Board Certification, the most prestigious teaching credential in the United States. Growing up in Louisiana, she gained early exposure to the French language and has since dedicated herself to exploring connections between Francophone regions. After learning French as a child, she left to study and conduct research in metropolitan France, Cameroon and Martinique. Ms. Broussard was recently appointed to founding World Languages Coordinator for an International Baccalaureate World School for the New York City Department of Education. The secondary school implements the Middle Years and Diploma Programs. Ms. Broussard is the founder of La Crèche, a St. Louis based non-profit organization that advocates for early language learning.
