Posted By: HBCU Connect Sports on August 11, 2011  Uyl Joyner, who helped lead Dougherty High School to a state championship in 1998 before signing with Troy State and eventually transferring back to ASU, is one of the leading candidate to become the Rams new offensive coordinator when Albany State kicks off Sept. 3 against Savannah State in the Music City Classic in Macon, according to head coach Mike White.
The Rams have been coy about who would take over for outgoing OC Steve Smith since he announced his resignation earlier this year to accept a job at Division I Tennessee State.
But Joyner who was been ASUs quarterbacks coach for the last two years and assumed the OC role in the interim when Smith left was listed in the Rams information packet at Wednesdays SIAC Football Kickoff Luncheon in Atlanta as their new offensive coordinator.
