South Carolina State University's 2011 Youth and ROTC Day will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 24, on the campus of S.C. State.

Youth and ROTC Day is designed to encourage elementary, middle and high school students to visit S.C. State's campus and experience all that the university has to offer while enjoying a football game - this year pitting the Bulldogs against the Delaware State University Hornets. This year's theme, "Preparing the Next Generation of Scholars: One Student at a Time," will set the stage for an opportunity to showcase the university's academic offerings, Army ROTC Program and student life.

Participants will see the Marching 101 in action and be inspired by the S.C. State cheerleading squad. As an added attraction, a pre-game concert featuring V.I.C. will show the audience how to "Wobble."

Tickets for the 2011 Youth and ROTC Day are $10 for youths younger than 17 years of age. A ticket price of $10 will be provided to one chaperone per group of 10 students. General admission for the event is $25. Checks should be made payable to S.C. State University Ticket Office. For tickets, call 803-536-8579.

For more information about the 2011 Youth and Army ROTC Day, call Antonio Boyle at 803-536-7186 or Lillian Adderson at 803-536-7057. Lunch will be provided by Popeye's for a group rate of $4.39 per person. For lunch, call Jackie Fulton at 803-707-7412.
