Baton Rouge will be this weekends sight for what fans anticipate to be an amazing game, when theJackson State Tigers pay a visit toA.W. Mumford Stadium to battle the Southern University Jaguarsin what many are calling the Ineligible Bowl.

Both teams werebanned from post season play by the SWAC conference for poor academic progress performance prior to the start of the season, but the game will match up two of the best fan bases in all of Black College Football. The game will mark the first visit to Baton Rouge by Jackson State since 2007, with the last three contests played in Jacksons Veterans Memorial Stadium (stadium capacity 60,000) to accommodate attendance regularly exceeding 60,000 for the rivalry game.

Not only will this game be played on the field but it will also be played in the stands as well, because its also a battle of two of the best marching bands in all of college sports. The SU Human Jukebox, ranked #1 in the country by the HBCU Digest will square off against Jackson States Sonic Boom of the South, adding additional intrigue to one of the more contentious rivalries in the nation.

Both teams enter the game with big wins last week as Southern (1-1) got its first win of the season by defeating the Bulldogs of Alabama A&M (0-2) 21-6 at A.W. Mumford Stadium while Jackson State (2-0) pulled off a come from behind victory 35-29 over Tennessee State (1-1) ball club in last weeks annual Southern Heritage Classic in Memphis.

Bragging rights for bands, tailgating and fan excitement are all on the line as Southern and Jackson State renew the annual brawl for the claim of the Big Cat in the SWAC title.
