Alcorn State University Department of Advanced Technologies invites applicants for a series of Technology Camps for students entering grades 4-12 beginning June 25, 2012, according to Dr. Kwabena Agyepong, department chair.

The camps will be held in the Kenneth L. Simmons Industrial Technology Building on the main campus in Lorman, Mississippi. During each five-day camp students will explore the world of technology through interactive, hands-on activities. Some sessions will include ACT/SAT preparation and career planning topics.

The five-day camps are scheduled for the weeks of June 55-29, July 9-13 and July 16-20. They will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.

“The camps are designed to help students learn about technology concepts and opportunities while developing critical thinking and problem solving skills in a fun engaging environment,” said Dr. Mamie Griffin, faculty member and camp coordinator.

There is a $50 application fee for each camp. The deadline for receipt of applications and fees is June 15, 2012. For an application and additional details, contact Lisa Augustine, projects coordinator, at (601) 877-6494.
