Posted By: William Jackson on May 10, 2013 Respect All Mothers In Love, Praise and Honor Every culture, religion, ethnicity, and shade of human existence praises mothers. Don’t get it twisted Mothers Day is every day Globally. "Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise: that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth." Ephesians 6:2, 3 NKJV The meaning of Mother’s Day is displayed with fancy words organized on a card, decorative floral arrangements of flowers to show love, appreciation, thanks and Blessings. Gestures of love and respect given in the form of gifts, meals, hugs, kisses, money, and other representations of affection by family and friends only shows an emotional feeling for Mothers Day. Celebrated annually in May, the universal understanding is that Mother’s Day Is Every Day. Through the centuries Mothers Day has been celebrated in many ways for the sacrifices that mothers have made for their children, husbands, families, and communities. Even churches give pause to mothers as Priests, Preachers, Apostles, and Bishops praise the historical significance of motherhood. Mothers Day began as a well-established tradition going back to Philadelphia in 1907, and continues on into the 21st century. Rarely in this day and age of high tech, fast paced and instant gratification do things this meaningful last and possess such power. The power of a mother can move mountains and part the seas of emotional and psychological challenge. Even in today’s society in the 21st century economic challenges are showing that mothers still command respect and honor as young adults are returning home because of the struggles of the economy. Who are college graduates turning to for help, Mothers and Fathers. This brings to pass the concept that “We are in a culture that holds mothers to a maddening standard of mythological perfection.” (Unknown) All mothers have the unique Blessings of God because he knew that children needed to be nurtured, loved, and taught how to be respectful and how to pray. Mothers are a child’s first teacher of life. A mother has the responsibility to teach their child how to be caring for family and friends, the importance of education and notably their first introduction to God or Allah. Even in the Muslim faith mothers are revered and honored. In The Hadith the statement about mothers is in honor to her stature and importance. “A man came to the Prophet and said, ‘O Messenger of God! Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship? The Prophet said: Your mother. The man said, ‘Then who?' The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man further asked, ‘Then who?' The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man asked again, ‘Then who?' The Prophet said: Then your father. (Bukhari, Muslim) No matter the religion, culture or background mothers are cherished. A mother’s blessing is that when children are not with their mother or father God is the one who is watching over them, keeping their babies out of danger and steering them clear of harm and hurt. Mothers know they are the foundation of humanity and humanity would not prosper if mothers abandoned their calling in life. Humanity exists and prospers because Mothers are still in control of the birth of life. Human beings by our very nature need to be loved, recognized and from time to time provided hugs, and affection, what better person than the mother who carried a child for 9 months or the mother who may not have carried the child and given birth, but who has taken on that role as a mother. "A mother is not a person to lean on but person to make leaning unnecessary." (Dorothy Fisher) Even biblically it is written mothers play a key role in the development of generations, not just in the bearing of children, but in the reinforcement of family traditions, passing down of family history, helping children to understand their key roles and direction in life, teaching young girls how to be good mothers and boys that a good man provides for his family, works in his community, attends church and blesses his family not curses it. Jesus respected his mother when she asked him to turn water to wine at a wedding, John 2:3 (KJ Version). Moses mother loved him so much that she sacrificed him to live and was blessed to get him back, Exodus 1:1-8 (KJ Version). Hagara in Genesis 16 was blessed with a son who would be the father of many nations. Even when it seemed they would perish in the wilderness only a short time before Genesis 16 (KJ Version). The world comes to celebrate women of stature, women of honor and praise the involvement of women in their child’s life. Be aware Mothers that you are building tomorrow’s leaders, world leaders in many areas. Please continue to do what you are doing by giving children love and teaching them to strive for success, helping your child to gain the confidence in their abilities that they can conquer the world. Children need to know that they can control their lives with the choices that they make, and with your guidance, love, advice and prayers have the freedom to make good and beneficial choices and decisions. “The real religion of the world comes from women much more than from men from mothers most of all, who carry the key of our souls in their bosoms”. (Oliver Wendell Holmes) Men may think they run things, but they should not get it twisted, when a mother speaks and gets to praying even the Angels stop and listen. Mothers, grandmothers, aunts, surrogate mothers, and those in respective roles deserve respect, praise and love on Mother’s day and beyond.
