Savannah State Computer Science Students Attend Rails Bridge Workshop (255 hits)

Every year I go back to Savannah State University Computer Science department to take over my mentor's classes for a week. Dr. Liu was very instrumental in me pursing career in computing when my major was Mathematics and Computer Science Technology minor. So I want to be sure I give back.

I tell the students about what's latest and greatest in the tech industry, provide them with resources they otherwise not know about and be sure to connect them with local resources and opportunities. I am a part of various open source communities and Rails Bridge has been very inviting and a great community to get involved with while learning, collaborating and contributing to some great projects.

This past weekend, I was really happy to see a few SSU Computer Science students attend a local Rails Bridge workshop in Savannah sponsored by Creative Coast, a local magazine covering the low-country area in Savannah, Hinesville, and Beaufort, SC.

Helping where I can, but keeping SSU CS students informed about opportunities, networking and conferences is what I can do to give back.
