The Career Pathways Initiative issued an open call to students to join a team of 25 developers, representing diverse disciplines and skill sets: graphic artists, programmers, animators, storytellers, etc. The goal of the team is to produce a gaming experience through which the user receives career readiness competencies. The Innovation Lab is scheduled to officially open by the beginning of February 2019.

At yesterday's session, Dr. Prudence Pollard, principal investigator of the Career Pathways grant, and vice president of Research and Faculty Development, introduced the speakers, who included:
• Coleman Fung, CEO and co-founder of Blue Goji, a wellness technology start-up;
• Robert Henley, a robotics expert currently serving as the Innovation Coordinator and Instructor for the Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists;
• Kenn Dixon, a storyteller, who serves as the Director of Integrated Marketing & Public Relations at Oakwood University; and
• Julian Waddell, entrepreneur and app developer, and coordinator of the new Innovation Lab.
