Home Depot has been providing funding for HBCUs across the country to renovate their campuses for 10 years, and now the company plans to increase the amount of money given when it announces the winners of its "Retool Your School" program on Monday in Atlanta.

Ten HBCUs will receive a total of $500,000 from Home Depot for everything from classroom refurbishment to medical facility upgrades. The company has given a total of $2.1 million to HBCUs since the program started in 2009.

HBCU alums Shannon Sharpe and Laz Alonso will attend the reveal ceremony, which will take place at The Home Depot Store Support Center in Atlanta.

"In celebration of the Retool Your School Programís 10-year anniversary, The Home Depot has increased its support of the program and HBCUs by offering $50,000 campus improvement grants," Home Depot said on its website.

"For the 2018-2019 Program, nine grants will be awarded based on consumer voting. The 10th grant, the 'Campaign of the Year Award' will be awarded to the school whose campaign proves to be most original, innovative and particularly effective."

Past winners include Talladega College, Tuskegee University, Claflin University and Livingston College.

"When Livingstone College won a $30,000 grant from The Home Depotís Retool Your School Campus Improvement Grant Program the school decided to transform the center of its campus where everything ó fairs, Greek strolls, step shows, homecoming kickoffs, and more go down," the company said.
