HBCU Fellowship Opportunity for HBCU students (112 hits)

The Dow Jones News Fund HBCU Digital Media Institute will offer fellowships for a week of training in digital media to increase fluency with the latest newsgathering software and storytelling techniques including podcasting, website design, videography, social media management, data visualization and coding. The Institute, based at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Fla., is aimed at promoting digital skills that are crucial to the success of journalists in today’s media industry. Fellows will be immersed in some of the latest storytelling, digital technology and production techniques. Students will apply those skills to a multimedia reporting project that involves creating a website with a digital media presentation. Fellows will be fully funded by the Dow Jones News Fund HBCU Digital Media Institute.

Who should apply?
- Rising sophomores and juniors at HBCUs with an interest in learning digital media techniques
- HBCU students interested in bringing digital media skills to their student media outlet
