Gainesville Regional Utilities' (GRU) Information Technology Department is seeking an Information Technology (IT) Project Leader

Project Leader to support various utility and city government projects involving information technology with the City of Gainesville. Example projects and work would include leading or facilitating the planning and implementation of new technology initiatives, upgrades or replacements to current systems/applications, and advising/consulting on best project management practices related to IT.
Qualifications & Requirements The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong leadership characteristics that demonstrate skills in effective communication, attention-to-detail, and the ability to adapt to changing work environments. A positive outlook with experience in building solid working relationships with peers and diverse business groups along with the ability to deliver superior IT project management services to customers is highly desirable. It is preferred that the applicant have experience with project management in information technology as well as knowledge of various IT systems (i.e. operating systems, applications, databases, servers, networking architecture, routers, switches, firewalls, cybersecurity, programming languages etc.). The candidates' skill sets also will include the ability to elicit and facilitate functional and technical requirements gathering and documentation, and perform systems research, design, and analysis. Strong preference will be given to candidates who have a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certification.
