ABOUT THE POSITION: 


Other Personal Services" (OPS) positions are used to describe positions that are part-time and temporary in nature. OPS jobs will normally be created for the accomplishment of short term peak workload, or periodic/intermittent tasks or projects for the college. OPS employees do not fill established positions, nor are they assigned the duties of any vacant authorized position. These positions will vary, based on the need of the institution and include office, clerical, administrative, and/or manual labor positions. An OPS temporary employee can work up to 1040 hours (in a 12 month period), unless the employee meets the criteria for extension referenced in Rule 60L-33.005, Florida Administrative Code, and normally are not longer than a six months employment period.


JOB/DEPARTMENT-SPECIFIC DUTIES:


Provide general office work in support of high school operations. This includes the regular use of Excel spreadsheets.


General work schedule is from 9am to 3pm but may vary to meet operational needs, including evening work hours.  Some flexibility in work hours may be provided to accommodate classroom schedules for students.   


OPS Worker positions earn an hourly rate of $8.10 per hour.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Ability to use Excel on a regular basis

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Good organizational skills with special attention to detail.

  • Ability to work well with others


 


REQUIRED EDUCATION: HS Diploma or equivalent required.  


EXPERIENCE:

Prefer experience related to the department-specific OPS position.
