Job Description
ITSA - Client Support Specialist I
Under administrative direction of the Manager, the Information Technology Support Associate (ITSA)- Client Support Specialist I provides timely and effective support for computer solutions to customer service problems, as well as the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware and software. The ITSA also provides hardware, software and networking training.

This position also works as part of the team that refreshes leased computers on campus during the lease cycle. Additionally, ITSA- Client Support Specialist I provides direct support for computer solutions in computer labs and classrooms including installation, configuration and maintenance of the computers.

The Information Technology Support Associate- Client Support Specialist I may be assigned additional duties and responsibilities in support of the departmentís mission and goals.

This position is a current civil service vacancy at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. This position will close to applicants at close of business, 4:30 pm CST, on the posting end date.

Qualifications & Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent.
2. Any combination totaling one year from the following categories:
(a) Progressively more responsible work experience in an Information Technology (IT) related profession.
(b) College course work which included Information Technology (IT), or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
60 semester hours or Associateís Degree equals one year

Please Note: As required by the position to be filled, additional education, training and/or work experience in an area of specialization inherent in the position may be necessary in meeting credential requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
1) 1 to 3 years' installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting computer hardware and software;
2) 1 to 3 years' demonstrable knowledge of scripting languages OR programming, and programming theory and practice;
3) 1 to 3 years' troubleshooting computer networking technology, servers, services, and related protocols such as TCP/IP, NETBIOS, AppleTalk, Bluetooth, IEEE 802.11;
4) 1 to 3 years' installing, maintaining, administering, and trouble shooting multiple operating system platforms such as DOS, MS-Windows, Apple Mac OS, iOS, Android, UNIX, etc.;
5) 1 to 3 years' Microsoft Deployment Toolkit or alternate large scale imaging experience;
6) 1 to 3 years' maintaining systems in an Active Directory environment;

All experience can be concurrent.
