A post-doctoral research fellow position is available in the lab of Dr. Emily Hatch at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, WA. The Hatch lab is part of the Basic Sciences Division and studies the structure and dynamics of the mammalian nuclear envelope (NE). The primary interest of the lab is to understand the molecular mechanisms that initiate NE remodeling and how defects in NE stability impact human disease, including cancer and laminopathies. The fellow will be responsible for developing and executing a project related to the core interests of the lab, as determined by discussions with Dr. Hatch, with the goal of developing a new line of inquiry with which the fellow could start their own research program, if desired. The successful candidate will be a driven individual capable of independent research, as demonstrated by first author publication(s) and presentations, and superior written and oral communication skills.
A PhD in biology is required.
Molecular biology experience, including experience in molecular cloning, is required
Experience with microscopy and quantitative image analysis is strongly preferred.
Experience with immunological techniques, including western blotting, flow cytometry, and immunofluorescence, is preferred.
