The Job
The Opportunity Network (OppNet) seeks a high-performing, mission-oriented individual to join its collaborative program team. The Senior Coordinator for Virtual Learning and College Success will work within OppNet’s Fellows program and will report to the Senior Program Manager for Curriculum and Student Events. The Senior Coordinator will support the
expansion of several exciting programmatic initiatives that will enhance efficiencies and deepen engagement for OppNet’s ever-growing group of Fellows. The Senior Coordinator will work with outstanding students, enjoy freedom to create and collaborate on virtual and in-person curriculum, and seize a real opportunity to create social change. The position is located in downtown Manhattan.

The Person
The ideal candidate will personally connect to the important work we do and value diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) across the organization. The candidate will demonstrate DE&I values by actively participating in all organizational-wide learning sessions and self-reflection as well as working with others to enact changes that contribute to meeting the organization’s DE&I goals. The candidate should possess outstanding professionalism and discretion, organization and attention to detail, energy and initiative, the ability to prioritize and complete a variety of tasks on time, and a willingness to work on a wide range of assignments.

College Student Success Portal (CSSP) (50%):
• Manage the development and maintenance of OppNet’s virtual College Success Programming, including:
o Develop a working knowledge of College Success lessons in order to convert in-person lessons to virtual
programming and to also create original virtual programming
o Track usage, analytics, and feedback from Fellows and staff
o Ensure maximum use of virtual programming, which includes, but is not limited to outreach to Fellows
o Ensure that Fellows who are unable to attend key in-person College Success events (e.g. Winter Conference,
Summer Series) are completing lessons and accompanying deliverables through the virtual content
o Develop and oversee yearly curriculum plan to develop the College Success Student Portal
o Serve as a liaison between e-learning vendors and OppNet program staff
o Develop and implement data systems in the CSSP for analytics
o Work with the Data Manager to ensure proper data collection of portal use behavior
o Support the team in the development of core competencies to document student development as the CSSP
enriches their programming
o Develop and facilitate staff training for curriculum and intensives focused on Virtual Learning and College Success topics
o Identify opportunities and collaborate across teams for deeper program-wide engagement with virtual learning for Fellows

Curriculum Development (20%):
• Collaboratively manage curriculum development and enhancements
o Work with the Program Manager of College Success to develop curriculum maps and scope and sequence for the College Success Program at the start of each fiscal year
o Use the curriculum map to create and oversee the curriculum development schedule for the College Success Program
o Conduct in-depth audits of all new and existing Virtual Learning and College Success curriculum
• Support the Program Manager(s) in assessing student outcomes are aligned with organizational goals and mission, Core Competency Model, and DEI framework to ensure proper scaffolding and learning development
• Support the Senior Program Manager of Curriculum and Student Events in auditing OppNet’s six-year curriculum
• Work to enhance the integration of competencies into curriculum and facilitation program-wide, with a focus on College Transition and Success
• Contribute to the work of the Curriculum Team to define, integrate, and assess pedagogical goals throughout Fellows Program curriculum
• Recruit and supervise the Graduate Student Intern in support of virtual and curriculum development

College Success Program Support (20%):
• Plan and facilitate college transition and success virtual and in-person curriculum, including Winter Conference, Summer Series, and other related programming throughout the year
• Compile and analyze data for College Success’s Core Competencies model for Virtual Learning
• Conduct 1:1 and group check-in calls and campus visits with approximately 40 college-level OppNet Fellows throughout the fall and spring semesters
• Support the Peer Mentoring Program by building out support systems and content on the CSSP

Overall Fellows Program Assistance (10%):
• Facilitate workshops for 11th and 12th grade weekly classes
• Serve as a liaison between student affinity groups and curriculum team
• Facilitate annual intensive programming and special events as required, e.g. Summer Institute, College Application Boot Camp, and College Transition Boot Camp, Speed Networking, Career Fluency® panels
• Lead recruitment visits/information sessions at area high schools and interview prospective Fellows
Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;
• 3 – 4 years of experience in college success or relevant youth development services, facilitation experience
• Demonstrated skill set in project management, including:
o ability to keep a project moving toward successful completion
o awareness of budget parameters
o ability to set and meet deadlines
o understands how metrics and competencies are connected to various projects
o familiar with data-driven practices
o effective cross-departmental communication
o detail oriented
o outstanding organizational skills
o creative and critical problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated skill set in curriculum creation for high school and/or college students
• Strong verbal, written, and oral communication skills;
• Experience with learning management systems (LMS) or e-learning strongly preferred;
• Familiar with translating in-person workshops/curriculum to a virtual platform;
• Well versed in culturally responsive teaching, student empowerment and agency and restorative practices;
• Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, internet research, e-mail, and Google Apps for Business
• Experience with CRM software (Salesforce) preferred;
• Proficiency in the following software a plus, but not required: Articulate360, Storyline, RISE, E-Learning Software, and Adobe Creative Cloud Apps;
• Demonstrated ability to connect with college-level students from historically underserved and underrepresented communities;
• Ability and willingness to work on some weekday evenings, select weekends, and occasionally, overnight trips to colleges and universities;
• Has a valid driver’s license;
• Knowledge of how higher education student services/affairs support college students a plus;
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for OppNet’s values and mission
