Human Resources Compensation Analyst
Under the direction of the Assistant Director, Comp & Benefits, performs a variety of professional, technical, and analytical compensation and classification activities related to the university compensation system. Maintains and ensures consistent application of the universityís classification standards for job classes.

Required Education
* Bachelorís degree in HR or related field preferred or applicable relevant work experience.
* CCP, PHR/SPHR, or other related HR certifications a plus.

Required Experience
* 7+ years analyst experience working with a HRIS/compensation structure that includes position management, grades/ranges, title structure, and report writing.
* 10+ years related Human Resources experience.
* Higher Ed. experience a plus.

Primary Duties/Essential Functions
* Subject matter expert on the university all staff compensation model.
* Design, develop and enhance all aspects of the compensation model including technical interface between systems.
* Collaborate with HRIS to design and develop compensation reporting and dashboard features to support strategic goals and enhance leadership visibility to compensation information.
* Ensure data integrity.
* Uses published or conducts ad hoc surveys to obtain and analyze market pay rates. Makes recommendations on pay grade changes based on survey results.
* Reviews requests for reclassification and makes recommendations for classification/pay level determinations. Interface with managers and employees in conducting job evaluations. Prepare written reports on findings. Communicate with leadership regarding the result of compensation work and make changes in the compensation system as appropriate.
* Review department reorganizations and make compensation recommendations as appropriate.
* Reviews requisitions for new positions to ensure appropriate classification.
* Works with the Talent Management team to ensure all aspects of job creation are addressed in a timely manner i.e. creation of position numbers and associated grade/range.
* Provides analytical support and data analysis on projects and human resource metrics.
* Provides data analysis and makes recommendations for new hires, staff promotions, and salary adjustments that ensures internal equity and fair pay.
* Develops and documents procedures to streamline processes and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Provides data input to annual salary surveys.


Knowledge of:
* Human Resources principles and best practices in compensation including job analysis/evaluation;
* Research methods and data analysis techniques;
* Employee relations principles and practices;

Skill in:
* Conducting studies and preparing sound recommendations;
* Analyzing and interpreting policies, practices and procedures;
* Preparing written reports for varied audiences;
* Conducting research, analyzing information and data and presenting findings in a concise format;
* Working with diverse academic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff;
* Utilizing computer technology used for communication, data gathering and reporting;
* Negotiation and problem solving;
* Building a rapport with employees and managers in conducting job reviews.

Ability to:
* Effectively communicate both in writing and verbally;
* Handle sensitive and confidential matters and situations;
* Understand and follow broad and complex instructions;

* Proficient in Google Apps, Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint.
* Advanced experience with PeopleSoft, Excel and reporting.
* Experience with HRIS systems and CompAnalyst a plus.
