RESPONSIBILITIES:
The full-time Psychology faculty is a creative, knowledgeable, and flexible individual who is responsible for teaching Psychology courses on both the Bedford and Lowell campuses. The faculty member works with the department chair and the dean in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program and participates in college service as well as student advisement. The faculty is committed to inclusive excellence, diversity, and continuous professional improvement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Teach the equivalent of fifteen credits per semester in psychology.
Post and conduct office hours in his/her office space as required by Article XII of the MCCC Agreement.
Participate fully in department, division, and college meetings.
Participate in college service as required by Article XII of the MCCC Agreement.
Provide ongoing advising with assigned students for the purpose of course, program and career decisions.
Participate in professional development activities and remain current in one's area of expertise
Establish, maintain, and monitor departmental policies and procedures that support effective, responsive, high quality education.
Implement applicable college policies.
Collaborate with the department chair and dean in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of student experiences.
Orient new adjunct faculty to course and program requirements.
Plan, implement, and evaluate the program in compliance with accreditation requirements.
Fulfill terms of the faculty contract as set out in the Agreement between the Board of Higher Education and the Massachusetts Community College Council/Massachusetts Teachers Association.
Other related duties as assigned

Additional Information:
This is a full-time MCCC faculty position with benefits.
Salary: The Full-Time Faculty salary under the MCCC/MTA collective bargaining agreement is based on the classification placement table with a base salary of $45,996; actual salary will be determined in accordance with the classification system of the MCCC/MTA Agreement based on the candidate's academic credentials, related experience, related licenses and certifications. Qualifications & Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a Master's degree in Psychology earned/conferred by 6/30/20.
Demonstrated ability to teach courses in a variety of areas of Psychology (e.g. Introduction to Psychology, Brain and Behavior, Research Methods, Child Psychology, Social Psychology, etc.)
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the role of the community college.
Experience with a variety of instructional methods.
Demonstrated ability to work collegially with faculty from different disciplines.
Commitment to continuous professional improvement.
Cultural awareness and competency demonstrated by working with and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity and veterans including those with different levels of academic preparation, varying physical and learning abilities.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the role of the community college in higher education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD in Psychology earned/conferred by 6/30/20
Specific knowledge base in biological psychology or developmental psychology.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative instructional approaches such as the effective use of technology including online courses and civic/service-learning.
Demonstrated ability to provide a variety of assessment strategies.
Bilingual skills.
