Hi, my name is Karla, I am a graduate student at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. I was appointed to the American Association of Medical Colleges and serve as charge member and peer reviewer. Our goal is to develop policies to provide opportunities for fair distribution of resources and services for deserving populations in health, housing, labor and education. Currently, I serve as health equity mentor and practice mentor with United Against Inequities in Diseases. Chapter members identify, develop, implement initiatives in communities that experience health disparities.
Current Whereabouts:
I am serving with United Against Inequities in Diseases as health research and practice mentor to improve the well-being of deserving populations who experience health disparities that prevent them from living fulling lives.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
I aspire to improve and support the needs of deserving communities in America who do not receive fair access to healthcare, education, work or housing, working with partners in government, and the private sector to develop strategies for identified populations experiencing unfairness in receiving resources and services is the abovementioned areas.

Claim To Fame:
At graduation in December of 2024, from Morehouse School of Medicine, I was awarded ambassador for my area of discipline, Master of Administration of the Justice Involved. I am an active member of the American Association of Medical Colleges and United Against Inequities in Diseases, our mission is to develop policies that include procedures and practices that allow fair distribution of resources and access for marginalized/ underserved populations in healthcare, education, employment, housing and life.
Most Memorable Moment:
My most memorable college moments were attending Fall convocation at Morehouse School of Medicine in September 2024, I was excited to see how many young people are dedicating their lives to care, and research to improve the health of underserved communities. I completed my Master of Administration in justice involved care December 13, 2024, from Morehouse School of Medicine. During the past 2 years, I studied and connected with staff and administration at Morehouse School of Medicine who are dedicated to improving the lives of underserved black and brown communities.
