Open Idea Publishing offers scholarship awards for select essay submissions. (Essay topics listed on reverse side). Unlisted essay topics will also be considered. Submissions limited to students enrolled in a formal U.S. college, technical, or professional school. One essay topic, one submission per student.

Essays must be original, unpublished work. Submissions must be typed (double-spaced) on one side of 8 ½ by 11 or A4 white paper. No email submissions. Essays should be titled and are restricted to no more than 10 pages.

All submissions must be stapled. Include an attached cover letter with contact information at the top left hand corner of page. Please state your essay question of choice, along with a brief author bio. List your school of current enrollment and your area of study.

Submit via regular mail, postmarked by June 1, 2012 (fall enrollment) and/or November 1, 2012 (spring enrollment). Winners will be rewarded approximately one month after deadline. Submissions become the property of Open Idea Publishing and will not be returned. No refunds for disqualified submissions. Please include a self addressed, stamped postcard if you wish to be notified of its receipt.

Submission fee is $5.00 (U.S. funds only). All essays will be judged by a closed panel. Judges consider merit, creativity, originality, and quality. Please make check or money order payable to Open Idea Publishing.
