TR@TC2 prepares highly qualified teachers for New York City public schools in an intensive, supportive masters degree program. Participants engage in a teaching residency at partnering schools as they complete complementary coursework in their academic program. When applicants are accepted into TR@TC2 as Teaching Residents, they are supported by well regarded, experienced mentor teachers, supervisors, faculty, and staff throughout the 18-month academic program and into the first two years of teaching.
Teaching Residents are eligible to receive a $30,000 living stipend, a substantial scholarship, and financial assistance for health insurance. Successful completion of TR@TC2 leads to an M.A. and initial New York State teacher certification in one of the following areas: • Secondary Inclusive Education: Teaching Students with Disabilities 7-12 Certification • Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages: TESOL K-12 Certification • Science Education: Biology, Chemistry, OR Earth Science 7-12 Certification For more details, including application guidelines, program requirements and scheduled information sessions, visit www.tc.edu/TeachingResidents. | |
