Scholarships are available to high school seniors as well as currently enrolled college students who meet the basic eligibility requirements. Before receiving an award, applicants may be asked to provide proof of satisfactory academic standing as well as proof of enrollment if applying as a current college student. The application process: (1) Follow The Darkberry Co through all of the following forms of social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. Links to our company's social media pages can be found at the bottom page of our website. (2) Submit a typed essay (1-2 pages) explaining why companies like The Darkberry Co are beneficial. This essay should be based on your own thoughts and experiences; therefore a documented research paper is not required. In the header of the paper please include your name, a contact number, contact email, your major, and school that you plan to attend or are currently attending. List all user IDs for social media accounts that you used to follow and show support for The Darkberry Co per step #1 of the application process.
The basic step of showing support for the company is extremely important so be mindful of this. As with any of the steps to the application process; your application is not complete if you have not followed the company on ALL listed social media pages. Along with the essay include a picture of yourself. Although we prefer that the picture be of you in your favorite Darkberry shirt; purchase of a Darkberry shirt is NOT required for consideration of our scholarship.(camera phone pics are acceptable) Also, submitting your picture with your essay authorizes The Darkberry Co to post your picture to its website and/or social media pages. The Darkberry Co is here to encourage and celebrate the beauty and strength of Black women and in no way will photos be manipulated or used by The Darkberry Co for purposes other than to express positive aspects of you and Black culture.
