Career Center Usage Instructions

Congratulations and Welcome to The Official Online HBCU Career Center powered by HBCUConnect.com!

These instructions are official for the entire network of Connect Platform of sites which include BlackNews.com, BlackJobs.com, AfricanAmericanCareers.com, and BlackWomenConnect.com to name a few. Please follow the instructions below for utilizing the tools within your Employer Toolkit:

JOB POSTING INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Go to the homepage of the site and click on the Jobs or Career tab in the menu.
  2. To post jobs go to the “Employer Tools” section, sign in, and then locate link for “Post Jobs”
  3. Enter Job Details, Requirements, and Apply Instructions, submit and approve job


RESUME SEARCH INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Go to the homepage of the site and click on the Jobs or Career tab in the menu.
  2. Click on “Employer Tools” section in order to access the Employer Toolkit which is where you access the “Search Resumes” section. Sign in if you have not done so already.
  3. Begin your Resume Search by entering different search criteria based off the fields that fit the requirements.
  4. Search options include: Keywords, Job Category, Majors, City, Area Code, States, Experience, GPA Range, Degree Level, Zip Code, U.S. Work Authorization, and Match
  5. What does Match All Terms mean? Match All Terms= You want to source only resumes that match exactly with the text you entered as criteria. Match Any Terms=You want to source resumes that have part of the keyword text within resume.


CANDIDATE MATCHING INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Go to the homepage of the site and click on the Jobs or Career tab in the menu.
  2. Go to the Employer Tools section and sign in
  3. Access the Candidate Matcher from the Employer Toolkit section
  4. Add a “New Alert”
  5. Enter criteria you want candidates to possess: Resume Keywords, Location, Colleges, Majors, Graduation Timeframe, Work Experience, Years of Experience
  6. Save the Alert and you will receive emails when a Resume is found that meets your needs
