A Show of Power

A Show of Power

I can guarantee you that 90+ % of the caregivers, health providers, nurses and doctors would have felt that a better and a more appreciative way for the US Government and its Arm Forces to have spent, for the cost of that display of Power, would have been to have purchased the needed PPE supplies. The supplies, that are in grave shortages, to the point where healthcare workers are having to recycle used mask, gloves, gowns, etc. How safe is that?

I can just imagine, if large numbers of healthcare providers were to succumb to this virus : (

One thing is for sure, many of those protestors are Trump's followers, who will be the casualties in the dreaded second wave, his base!

Watching the News, It is like I am watching a Sci - Fi movie. You can pick any one selection from the many, from the past or present, all of them addressing varied diseases similar to today's pandemic, the corona virus, COVID - 19.

Picking just two selections, both of them demonstrating that our officials are following their manuscripts.

"Outbreak" (1995) - When a new viral hemorrhagic disease breaks out in a small American town, CDC scientists race against time to stop it from spreading. Unfortunately, they also have to deal with a bloodthirsty Army general who wants the virus for a bioweapon and is determined to prevent a cure. This absurd plot was inspired by a celebrated nonfiction history of viruses like ebola because ah, Hollywood. But at least it's directed by the great Wolfgang Petersen.

"Contagion" (2011) - You might recognize this as the Steven Soderbergh film where Gwyneth Paltrow dies horribly from a deadly new virus. It's also a smart thriller about how diseases spread, the difficulty in finding a cure and the way conspiracy theorists and incompetent or malicious authorities can make it worse. Uh, excuse us we need a drink this is too real.

Then there is Netflix's mini documentary series, Pandemic, which is being dismissed, as being just about a flu epidemic outbreak.

So, where is, what is and how does the Governments plans make conditions any safer, because with all of the hidden and conflicting reports, it does not seem as thou things are going to get any better, no time soon; especially with the reopening of the non-essential businesses and the massive demonstrations against quarantine efforts, that will jeopardizing every ones well being.

Now, if proven wrong, and this dreaded second wave is not as deadly as predicted, then one conclusion can be made, that the protestors were healthy, with no underlined pre - medical conditions and that they didn't spread the virus.

Two Weeks ...!
