Our family was "there" when an acquaintance of my mother named Rosa parks, refused to give her Montgomery bus seat to a white passenger in December 1955. The rights Montgomery Blacks vigorously fought for and won can be no better epitomized than what the world witnesses in Washington, DC on January 20, 2009. Follow the pursuit and the reasons her oldest son, yours truly, strives to have at least some family members, perhaps Mom herself, be there in person to ponder the deep meanings this presidential inauguration holds for us. See connectplatform (beta) site for more reasons for this group to know why this quest is underway. Your comments and expressions of support hearten, to say the least. 0 New Posts |
